Geez! Dude, get over it!
Mar. 21st, 2005 08:57 pmRemember this guy, the one who became upset because I said he sounded like an ass after I read a copy of his review of the AtS Season 5 DVD? You know, the article on the website I never visited. The guy who I never wrote to (much less sent a complaint e-mail to. Or...hell... anything to). But who read a five sentence response I posted on BAPS (totally unrelated, Spike-centric site). After all the guy spent the bulk of his AtS Season 5 DVD review complaining about Spike on BtVS and I thought that was ridiculous and said so on BAPS. BAPS, mind you.
That guy wrote me an unsolicited e-mail claiming that he wasn't an ass, etc. ( that I posted about here). Of course--let me repeat-- there's the little fact that I had never written the man, and had never visited or posted on his site. I hadn't even visited the Usenet Angel Newsgroup and had, in fact, only posted a few short (albeit snarky) lines on BAPS, yet somehow this guy felt compelled to personally contact me with a page long letter explaining how he really wasn't an ass even though he had spent most of his (supposedly professional) 'article' about AtS complaining about Spike on BtVS.
My response to his personal e-mail to me was brief--did he really feel the need to track me down and write a private e-mail because I had disagreed with the review?
Huh. Guess he really didn't get the clue that the first e-mail he sent came off as... well... kind of pathetic, because he's done it again! He's sent me another long ass letter defending his dislike of Spike, and explaining how he really isn't pathetic for tracking me down and responding to me personally over a four line post I wrote a month ago...on a board that wasn't related to his site!
Sheesh! Dude, here's a clue -- I don't care who you are. I don't care what you think. I don't care that you dislike Spike. I don't care that you can't handle the fact that I think your review sounded like a braying ass. I don't know who you are. I don't want to know who you are. And I don't really care if it bruises your fragile ego that I thought your review sucked. Get over it! Grow up. Go away. For a supposedly 'professional' reviewer, you're behaving like a petulant child.
What's with this guy?

kellyhk's post here I tend to side with the medical community in these cases.

Date: 2005-03-23 01:57 am (UTC)Bwha! Glad I'm not the only one who noticed. And, you know, I kind of think Spike and Nick the Pimp would have liked each other.
And as for the Spike-hating reviewer, I honestly don't know if I'm the only person priveleged with the need to protect his ego. I just find it... bizarre.

Do you watch PASSIONS? Is it true that they have a Harmony and Spike on there?

Date: 2005-03-23 05:11 am (UTC)But, yeah, poor Nick got screwed. I never really bought his sudden reversion to the dark side. It always rang false (although the "flashback" scene of his murder by Jo breaks my heart. But then I always loved Joy Garrett's Jo Johnson. And I thought Jenesky did a good job. It was totally unfair that they made Nick the scapegoat in that plot. Nick never would have killed Steve. They were friends. Nick was gray, he wasn't really a bad guy! (Well, except that time he tried to make Jen and Frankie make porn... but, hey, that was hella funny!)
But, yeah, Nick and Spike liked really catty women. They both were romantics at heart. And they constantly got unfairly dumped (I thought April was a fool to leave Nick too). I think Nick and Spike could have been friends.
And I don't actually watch Passions. I am however, way too informed on the whole Soaps thing. It's scary. Passions actually takes place in Harmony. And at one point they did actually have the characters of Passions watching BtVS... where the local witch couldn't figure out what Spike saw in Buffy. He was too good for her.
I'm not sure how I saw that particular scene (blind luck or SoapNet. I don't know) because I don't watch Passions. But for some reason I saw that scene and said a loud, "Hell yeah! Got that right!"
