Yeah. I'm watching DA S4 now, and the SPOILER is unpleasant, but is also handled in an extremely soap opera-ish manner, with probably the attendant cliched soap opera fallout in episodes to come. It's sort of handled in a period-appropriate way, which of course is horrible, but I think the underlying reason for it is because Fellowes has heard how fans think the characters are now stultifyingly boring, and this is his way of stirring the shit pot so everyone will be interested and invested again. A bad move.
I'm more annoyed by the new EVOL SERVANT addition, though. Pfft. Been there, etc.
