I agree that ME viewed it differently than Spike-fans, because I don't think they were coming at it from a single perspective. But I think there's a middle ground in saying some viewers saw it more from Spike's perspective, and in saying that ME saw it not all from Spike's perspective. To me, that's the difference. Yes, ME saw it less from Spike's perspective than Spike-fans did, but well, that's to be expected I think. But I don't think that translates to them not seeing *any* of it from Spike's perspective. If that was the case, there'd be no Spike/Dawn or post-AR scenes in SR, Entropy Spanya scenes, or Smashed attempted biting scene, etc. On SaTC, we were never meant to be in Alek's head. We were never meant to see him as more than a temporary roadblock.
I get that we're not going to agree on Spuffy or how successful it was. I just don't see the comparison here to SaTC. The situations and goals just feel completely different to me.
