That genre is odd about names...it's one of my difficulties with paranormal/urban fantasy romances...they are often unintentionally farcical.
I kept trying to read the shape-shifter ones, but the blurb alone had me burst out laughing or rolling my eyes.
"There was just something about a man with big paws" - this was in regards to The Mane Event (can't remember the writer) - a contemporary romance about a female werewolf and a guy who shapeshifts into a lion. (It was recommended to me, along with the dragon shapshifting romance novels by a co-worker.)
