Dad got the surgeon's report and the surgeon is happy with the repair. He gave Dad the greenlight and says he doesn't foresee a need to do a surgery again in the future. So YAY!

And now I have a long weekend and I'm heading to the beach. I'm taking my neice with me. She's out of school but everyone else in her family has to work and/or go to school. Mom and Dad may or may not join us down there. It's according to how Dad feels (they left for home earlier today. Their home is 3 hours closer to the beach than here so they can decide tomorrow whether they want to join us.

Went to Macy's and bought a new swimsuit (my old one is ages old). And now have to pack. Meeting my sister and my neice for breakfast in the morning, then Lex and I are heading to the beach house.

Everyone have a good Memorial Day.

Gone to the beach...

Luckily, no.

Yesterday the cardiologist took Dad back in to do the more intensive scan (which I would explain if I could, but I don't quite understand it). That one came back as saying the regugitation wasn't as intense as he had originally thought and that it was relatively mild (apparently the ring they put around Dad's valve can make it show up darker on the ultrasound so he said that the ultrasound had looked worse). He still has regugitation, it's not 100% fix, but it's 80% and that's apparently good enough to leave it alone. Dad saw the surgeon today and the surgeon is satisfied and says that this fix should be good enough to last. So Dad (who is MUCH relieved) is freed of the prospect of a second operation. Now all he has to do is heal from the first one.

So good news.

Thanks! (And don't worry about having missed the earlier post.)

Have a nice memorial day weekend.

That's fantastic!

(I haven't commented before, because I wasn't sure how sincere any sympathy would sound, since I had very little idea of the situation...but now I sort of get it and I'm really pleased for you and your family.)
