Right there with you on the Wood and Spike thing. I was always majorly perplexed by the people who were so adamant that Spike needed to apologize after all that. I could actually have seen it happening, if Spike had been made aware *before* being lured into Wood's torture chamber that he had killed the man's mother. But after that? Not only did it not seem necessary, I think it would have been weird in the extreme to have Spike be all apologetic.
