Running Commentary While Watching

* So show us already who the person in the apartment is listening to truly AWFUL music.

* M'kay so the faceless person is inside the shaft...

* Commercial Monkey porn???

* Commercial Okay, I wanted that coral blazer in Talbots, but I couldn't find it when I went to the store the other day.

* Bwha! Like Hurley. "Go look in the buring death hole."

* Yep, Jack's still the "I'm in charge control freak." Obey the Jack. Always obey the Jack. Meh.

* Naturally, NOW they find the sign saying "Quarentine!" (and now I want my Mr. Fribble icon... sorry, Red Dwarf reference)

* Meh. Jack flashback. Yech! Early 90's Jack hair!

* Mmmmm. Sayid.

* Tool v. Tool (Jack V. Locke... only though he may be insane, I like Locke more. Nope. Still not a Jack fan).

* Okay, vision-Walt was kinda scary.

* Backtracking... wasn't Sayid with Jack, Kate, Locke during the finale? When did he go back to Shannon and the others?

* So Hurley tells Jack that his bedside manner sucks... I suppose LOST's writers have heard that Jack isn't universally popular and so are allowing that from some points of view, Jack can be an ass.

* So Jack is all reassurance and dim hope, now. And are you gonna find Earth too, Adama even though you don't know where it is? (Sorry, Battlestar Gallactica reference)

* Commercial I sorta wanna see "The Corpse Bride"

* Scottish guy is the new guy. I remember reading about a Scottish guy being cast in an unspecified role.. and he rather looks like the guy exercising at the start of the ep... which would make sense because if he was cast as a regular I'd think he'd be on the island.

* Okay, why does this scene remind me of the X-File episode Post-Modern Prometheus when the monster would play Cher? It's the awful music isn't it.

* Antiquated computers...

* Isn't the point of testing whether they can feel it, that they can't SEE you testing and it then just be a psychosomatic response?

* Yep. Guy in the shaft is Scottish Guy from the beginning flasback. Obvious much?

Invasion Series Premiere

* Warning "Images of Hurricane" in the beginning of Invasion I'd totally scoff... if we weren't looking at a bad ass hurricane hitting in a day or so. Shaun Cassidy has crap all timing.

* You know, on my way home from work I was listening to one of the guys who flies into hurricanes and he said actually that it's a pretty smooth flight, not as rough as what they appear to be showing.

* Any particular reason the ranger station is flying an Alabama flag?

* Well giving the child the wittle turtle definitely was used to make Lead Guy seem sympathetic. It was sympathetic.

* Yeah, conspiracy theory guy needs to hook up with Farrakhan.

* "Kay. It's not the Alabama flag. Just an awful lot like the Alabama flag. I honestly had never thought about the Florida flag and the Alabama flag being so similar.

* Um... I don't think you COULD send a mom home while her kid is missing in a hurricane. No mother would leave then.

* Not sure how the hell Daddy found the little girl.

* And THIS is why you do not drive during a hurricane! Yikes. Wreck.

* Well, at least the National Guard arrived promptly (though would ranger guy and daughter have stayed unconscious in the truck alllllll of that time?)

* So ranger dude's second wife is pregnant. But first wife is MIA...

* Sheriff nicely underplays it by not going into hysterics that his wife is missing or openly blaming the ex-husband. (Yet he does. You know that he does.)

* So... did the hurricane strip her naked?

* Oh good, glad sheriff threw blanket over woman, because teen son seeing his mother laying naked in the Everglades is a bit ew.

* So sheriff's first wife died?

* Sheriff is kinda unnerving with wanting a quarentine.

* I'm with the girl -- why wouldn't a gator bite Dave? (And ew with the skeleton)

* Commerical Dinosaur/Robot in love commerical for Hummer is... strange.

* Ew... with the skeleton. Is it even a human skeleton? Guess not a human skeleton. Or is it a human skeleton in something else? (And Dave pulled that up out of the Everglades and hid it in his car? Dude! Did you think about maybe calling the POLICE?!)

* Commercial Dude! They're using Spuffy Theme from Chosen for the "Commander In Chief" commercial

* Heh with Ranger dude "Maybe the Martians shot [that plane] down. (Which speaking of plane, wouldn't there be some news about the weather plane that was shot down at the beginning of the ep?)

* Eek! Okay light creature attacking Dave got a jump out of me. Eep.

* Actress who plays Mary is really good at giving me the creeps.

* What's up with the slow-mo of the preacher?

* Ooohhhh.... Sheriff is in on it too? Very "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"

Okay, I am so brain dead... It took me two re-reads to realize you were talking about two separate shows. Because try as I might, I just couldn't remember a Ranger guy and a sherif dude in Lost. Although, I might be forgiven, since it doesn't look like anything of substance happened in Lost, now, did it?

Some people really loved the season premiere of Lost. I was... actually, a bit bored. Though I have been told that I was being presumptuous when saying that it was totally obvious that randoming running in the stadium guy was hatch guy. Apparently that was a shocking twist (that didn't shock me).

So your mileage may definitely vary on this one.

Invasion is watchable.

I don't know as it was obvious, but I did think it would be him. I really liked it, though. I found it really creepy, which is really all I ask.

Invasion is OK enough to be worth watching again, at least. I found it a nicely creepy (there's that word again) touch at the end when we found out the sheriff's in on it/one of "them," too.

OMG, thank you! I totally kept thinking it was completely derivative, but I couldn't remember of what! Yeah. For some reason it also reminded me of Austin Powers and various James Bond movies. But I still liked it and it was creepy, even if I already knew who the hatch guy was. As you said, obvious much? Jeez.

Now that I've been thinking about it for a couple of minutes, though: is Hatch Guy supposed to be Captain Nemo, Robinson Crusoe or Dr. Moreau? Or all three?
Huh.

No, it was obvious. Also, he's Jack's gay lover. Okay, that may not be as obvious to some people. *g* And I thought his accent was supposed to be Irish, but I guess it could have been Scottish. ::shrug:: The premier was eh, to me, too.

On the other hand, I really liked Invasion and will watch next week for sure.

Maybe the accent is Irish (I didn't pay that much attention) but the actor is Scottish. (Then again Naveen plays an Iraqui and it Anglo-Indian).

I was just shocked at how a couple of people were angry about my saying it was obvious. Um... wasn't meaning to upset anyone. It just seemed obvious to me. All in all, it was enjoyable enough. I don't ask a lot of Lost. It's not one of my obsessions, so as long as it's a fun ride, I'm satisfied.

Hey, Sawyer is Jack's gay lover. Hrmpf! I suppose Scottish guy can be gay lover as long as Sawyer is off treading water. But Sawyer had better at least be allowed to hook up with Sayid then!

Glad to help. I found the scene VERY reminiscent of Post-Modern Prometheus.

Hee! Jack is probably humping every guy on the island - except Walt. He's such a ho. A boring ho, but a ho none the less.

And besides, Hatch Guy was Jack's gay lover years ago, so Sawyer's not threatened. :)

That's exactly how I feel about it. I don't really analyze or try to figure out what's coming. I just have fun. I'm finally watching last Wednesday's ep now, and...where's Jin?!
