Check List

Well, happy 4th guys (yeah, I'm early).

I'm heading to the beach for the weekend so I'm leaving work early tomorrow. Hopefully, I can find a decent book on tape at Cracker Barrel because it's a 5 hr drive, and I'm driving alone. I might also do a quikie trip home at lunch before leaving so that I can pick up my video tape of tomorrow's Farscape Marathon. (Sci-Fi is playing a really great series of eps from "The Choice" through "Dog With Two Bones". Yeah, yeah, and also the beginning of season 4 but those eps aren't very good). I have "The Choice" on DVD, but I haven't gotten "Lambs to the Slaughter," "Wolf in Sheep's Clothing," and "Dog With Two Bones" yet. I know I have Dog SOMEWHERE in my video collection but it beats the hell out of me where, so I set the VCR to record it in the morning. ( Farscape Schedule in Eastern Time )

I'm also taking my laptop in the (perhaps vain) hope of finishing Chapter 10 of "When Darkness Falls" (yes, STILL) I've just been so damned blocked! I was somewhat okay writing the Wes/Lilah smut that started the chapter (albeit nervous because it's by far the smuttiest smut I've ever written). Then I started the Spike/Buffy scene and came to a screeching halt. It's a scene I had planned from the beginning, and yet I'm finding it incredibly difficult to write. It should be a fun scene with The Master wanting Spike and Buffy in some gladitorial match against one another, and Buffy finally buying a clue that Spike really hasn't turned evil. Still, last night while trying to write it, I suddenly felt as though I had lost any feel for any of the characters. I couldn't find their voices. Ugh. What's the best cure for writers block? I know what happens in the chapter, I just can't seem to write it.

Anyway, short work day tomorrow (woohoo!) and heading to the beach (maybe to see the sun since it's been raining in B'ham the whole damn month! So I'm saying a Happy Fourth before I go.
