Reading the EW article on the writers strike, am I evil to think that this is a good byproduct?
...the Oscars now looks iffy, unless the card-carrying WGA member is willing to cross a picket line to perform. In fact, nobody is sure what will happen with all the awards shows coming up this January and February. After all, somebody has to write those Noël Coward-like gems for hosts and presenters to read at the Grammys, Golden Globes, and SAG Awards. Usually that someone is Bruce Vilanch. But the veteran gag writer says he won't break the strike ''and neither would any other Guild member. I imagine what will happen now is that people will come on and make up their own [jokes].''
