So I tend to call my mother most days before work (see what a good daughter I am?)  But this morning she was not answering.  So I ended up calling my dad who told me that Mom had been spitting up blood last night and he'd insisted that she go to the doctor this morning.  (She fell the other day during the snake incident).  I told him to make her call me when she got back.

The doctor ran a few tests and took an x-ray, finding a shadow on her lung.  He said that he thought it was pneumonia but sent her for a CAT scan.   She said that results from it wouldn't be back until Monday, but she later called and said that results had come back and it was pneumonia.  I'm not sure, however, whether she was speaking of the earlier tests or the CAT scan. 

Hopefully it really is just pneumonia.  Pneumonia isn't great, even walking pneumonia-- which since she's not showing any other symptoms would be what she must have -- but at least it's something that's easily cured with antibiotics.  So, hopefully, that is all.
