Mad Men Finale
Jun. 11th, 2012 12:45 pmYou know, "Game of Thrones" is a dark show, but I don't think it has anything on Mad Men in terms of darkness. Mad Men can be incredibly depressing sometimes, and the finale was -- yet again this season -- depressing.
The art direction was fantastic, however, from that gorgeous shot of the partners looking at the New York skyline, with forced perspective and Joan -- in red -- standing in the center of the tableau. To Don walking away from the Butler Shoes commercial. There stood Megan in the center of a brightly lit, warm-hued fairytale that was all tv production and paper mache set design...and his exit into gray and shadowed 'reality'.
Lovely art direction.
And, hee! Roger! (He's sort of Mad Men's Jason Stackhouse.)
Speaking of Jason, I think he was just about the only likable character in last night's True Blood.
