I rarely comment about TB much any more, but although I consider the show generally silly, I have been enjoying the season.

Last night must have been "And everyone is going crazy..."  Because... well... everyone is  (Except possibly Eric... and Jason.)

* The Sam stuff cracked me up.

* If the show had any moral center at all I'd wonder what the heck they're going to do with Bill after this, but with this show it will be "by-gones"

*  I figure Eric is going to kill Norah eventually.

* I'm worried that Hoyt may actually die because he's never had a big role and since they're playing Jason/Jessica he's becoming rather superfluous.

* Scott Foley is clearly going to do something stupid so that when he dies it'll be okay (We'd all rather it be Terry who survives anyway).

* Sookie is actually the most boring part of the show, isn't she?

* I think that Talbot is being replaced by Steve Newlin!  Hee! :D

All in all, that was some full-on crazy, but it was some crack-addled-full-on-crazy amusement... which is all I ask of True Blood.

Looks like the Bastard Bolton has been cast.

::shudder::

(IMHO the most terrifying character in a series already filled with an assortment of psychopaths).

Olympics

I seem to be in the minority on LJ in that I actually become quite squeeful over the Olympics and watch many of the events.

It's true that NBC's coverage sucks. (Seriously, we know that it's taped. Why not show the events with some continuity rather than chopping them up such that there's never any cohesiveness in the coverage?! You know, we aren't fooled regarding timelines when in Beach Volleyball you say that it's after 10:30 at night and then you swap over to rowing and it's daylight. ABout the only thing NBC has going for it is that over the weekend they spread coverage to all of their channels -- NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, Bravo, Oxygen, etc. so they have broad coverage then (I even watched some of the ping pong!) And online you can catch the live feed of just about anything, so yay, internet. But NBC's prime time coverage is truly abysmal.)

Still, I'm a sucker for the Olympics overall.

I enjoyed the men's cycling this weekend as it was rather nice to see the 39 year old (I don't remember from what country) win. I love vets busting age barriers in the Olympics.

Same goes for that gray-haired Bulgarian male gymnast. Sticking with gymnastics even after your hair turns gray is impressive.

Watched Women's Volleyball and marveled at how TALL those girls are. I mean, you look at them and realize that they're tall, but then you hear the announcer say offhandedly "She's just shy of 6'-4" and... damn, that's tall.

Same with the US male swimmer on the relay. Yeah, Phelps, Lochte, etc are tall. but that last guy (the far less famous guy on the relay team) DWARFED them. How large is that guy??? He looked HUGE next to men that we know are 6'-1" or 6'-2"! (And, okay, he looked quite good in his speedo. Like... really good).

US Diver Bondi (Bondai? I don't know how to spell it), keeps reminding me of the guy who plays Stefan on "The Vampire Diaries".

The poor U.S. gymnast who is the World Champion who can't go to the All-Around because she came in third from the U.S. competitors looked so heartbroken. Who can blame her? You know she's worked and dreamed of this forever and though she has one of the higher scores in the competition, because two team mates scored higher than she did... that's really tough. So, NBC, get that damn camera out of her face! Interview her teamates without her in the background. Allow THEM their moment in the sun, and allow that girl the room she deserves to grieve. If you want to interview her, wait until the next day!

The U.S. male gymnasts really flamed out tonight, but yay British men! I was hoping they'd medal! (Boo judges though. Changing the scores after the end just seems... bogus. It didn't even look like it was the Japanese gymnast who was protesting for a review, it looked like his coaches were doing that. And, I'm sorry, but... the Ukraine deserves to be PISSED.) Still, yay, British male gymnasts. That was awesome!
