Riley Never Could Catch A Break
May. 22nd, 2014 12:18 pmPoor Riley Finn.
There was nothing wrong with him... on paper.
Okay, so he was a bit dull. Even when his entire world came crashing down around him, his reaction was underwhelming. Then -- as per usual for BtVS -- writers did dumb things (that ultimatum at his exit. *head desk* And, let's not talk about the mancrush inspired visitation in "As You Were".)
Still, in general, Riley was an okay guy. But, TVGuide goes brutal.

Marc Blucas
The best two words to describe Blucas are "just there," because that's what he is.
He's handsome, not doubt about it, but his characters always tend to only exist to advance the plot or develop other characters around him. Buffy's vampire boyfriends had more life than Riley, her unremarkable human beau. To put it simply: Blucas is just an average Joe, which is fine in real life, but rather unremarkable onscreen.
