Weekend Update

Watched the game and... ugh. Nothing happy to say there (and poor Kenyan Drake. That injury was horrific, coming up with his foot facing the wrong way. Yeeeeek! Hopefully it was a clean break. ::shudder:)

How about puppy thoughts instead?
Spoiled little Zoe on the way to my sister's house to watch the game:
And gameday snacking layout:
Clearly we were trying to be healthful, though I had made pumpkin pie bites (that we ate far too many of) on the far end.
The cold front (albeit only down to the mid 60s during the day) definitely brought on feelings of fall, hence the pumpkin pie bites.
Plus, I made curried butternut squash soup for dinner last night. It turned out well.
(I'd give the recipe but I tend to just 'cook', which means no recipe just my memory and adding this, that and whatever. It essentially boiled down to slicing open a butternut squash, scooping the seeds out, turning it upside down on a baking sheet and cooking until the squash is soft (30 min or so for a relatively small butternut). I then sweated a sweet onion in olive oil. Added thyme, smoked paprika, and chili pepper. Added 1/8 cup(? It was more "pour until I went, yeah, that looks right") white wine vinegar and reduced by half. Added 2 cups of chicken broth. Added the scooped out mush of the roasted butternut. Brought to boil and stick blended until smooth. Added sweet curry powder, ginger powder (no fresh ginger on hand), a tiny touch of cardamom. Salt & pepper. And served with a dollop of sour cream and a drizzle of thai chili oil).
Have mostly finished the bathroom project where I cut out part of the wall, built a box with shelving. Bought a mirror from Ballard Designs and hung it with a piano hinge to make a large hidden medicine cabinet for Mother's guest bathroom.

Watched Doctor Who. I enjoyed the episode (probably the most I've enjoyed an episode this season), but, yeah, the subtext of it all was bothersome.
Watched Once Upon a Time. Not much to say but bwhahahahahahahaha! (Prince) David's flashback wig. LOL! :) And Captain Hook+Emma Swan were giving off major shippy vibes.
And...hm... well... Not much to say other than I suppose we have pretty weather.
