So I got a dress...
Oct. 3rd, 2015 06:17 pmSo I got a dress. It is absolutely NOT what I thought I would buy. I'm shocked. I chickened out of it twice. Tried on other things and would go through the 'possibles' again and would still conclude it was most flattering. So not what I would have expected. Not in the least.
Champagne colored. Has bling. Just not at all what I thought. It is 'flowy' (double layered), beachy-neutral (ceremony is on the beach), and full length so it fit the bride's criteria/preference. Plus (why it won out over everything else I've tried)...
It fit. A little large in the bust but an easy alteration. But it fit and flattered. Was long enough for heels (which is often a problem as I'm 5-10 so some dresses become unintentional ankle waders on me). And it was at a consignment shop so it was a $270 dress for $90! (You can understand why that mattered.)
So despite all the ways it's notwhat I expected to buy, it is what I bought.
And, yes, a shawl is now an absolute must. I need it for coverage, to feel covered. It is only a matter of what color shawl.
