Thanksgiving Prep
Nov. 22nd, 2011 09:04 pmSo thankfully there are enough cooks in the family that we divvy up responsibility. Sis has turkey. Mom has dressing. I have veggies. So today/tonight I'm doing prep. I went to Penzy's Spices and bought a new package of curry.
We're expecting 12, so I've now roasted 4 butternut squashes in preparation for making butternut squash soup.
I have my usual recipe for butternut squash soup, but I'm perusing Epicurious.com looking at other recipes (since I tend to do some variation on a theme thing anyway).
This version looks easy, but I think I'd miss the curry.
This version is a bit closer, but I think the apples are unnecessary.
This one sounds yummy... though it's not soup.
I'm wondering whether this one is where the conglomeration I use originated... only curry was added somewhere over the years.
