Did I ever tell you how I met kcarolj65 in person? We'd both realized, rather last minute, that we were going be at DragonCon... so, we didn't have time to work out a way to meet.

Well, that weekend, I was there with nmissi and we'd been off doing separate things when she called to say she had a surprise for me. Turned out, she'd gone out to the smoking area and had started chatting with someone there... who ended up being kcarolj65.

Considering how many people are at DragonCon, that's about as random as you can get!

Hey, are you going to writercon?

I've been vacillating terribly (my sister wants to go to NYC around that time but she never quite gives me a date so I still haven't made any plans).

I'm really still not sure. It's going to depend on a lot of things, and I'm probably not going to be able to take a decision on it until closer to the event. Worse comes to worse, and there aren't any hotel rooms left, I can always just see about renting a car and staying with a friend of mine who lives in the area.

I might do that anyway, as a way to make the trip about more than just WriterCon (easier to justify the expense that way).

But it's really going to depend on expenses and how much traveling I end up doing around that time (because I'm planning on going to GenCon and possibly WorldCon and I really wouldn't mind doing a trip of some sort in June).
