shipperx: (Spike - I'm Paralyzed By Not Caring)

Okay, so let me admit that I don't really spoil for LOST. It's not that I don't spoil. If I run across spoilage I don't go into the "but I wasn't spoiled! You ruined it for me!" whine. I'm not anti-spoiling. I just enjoy the show unspoiled and so don't seek out spoilage. So, in short, I'm not TOTALLY unspoiled, just 95% so.

Anyway, ran across this at Fandom_Wank:
http://mru-forum.com/index.php?showtopic=698&st=0

Any idea whether this is true or typical spoiler mis-info? I hadn't run across it before the Fandom_Wank link appeared, but it would fit with the various rumors of Watros leaving (further explaining the 'guest' part on that pilot.) That's been reported everywhere:
http://www.zap2it.com/tv/news/zap-cynthiawatroscbspilot,0,6363154.story

And, according to E!'s Wrongda, there are going to be deaths:

So... feelings? Possible truth or pointless, spoogey kerfuffle? I'm not really much with the caring either way, just curious.

I just read that MR picked five days in jail instead of community service. Maybe a sign she wouldn't be around long enough to get the 240 hours in.

Saw that.

There were rumors when the DUI first broke that she was going to bite it because of the bad publicity but than there was JJA saying "no" she wouldn't be killed off because of anything outside of the show. So now I dont' know what to think, but if she dies it's not really a big surprise I've figured she's deadmeat since the start of the season.

Well, considering her unpopularity and the recent lack of development this has the SoapOperaese "storyline dictated" written all over it (if it's true.)

Possibly.

I mean, I'm still taking this as "it's a rumor" thing, but these people seem really, REALLY into MR and with spoilering, that probably means they sought out a lot of info, so it's not unlikely that they would know.

Anyway, I have to admit that it doesn't make a lot of difference to me. I was never an Ana hater or Ana defender to much of any degree. So my reaction is mostly "shrug". I'm actually more bothered by the implication further on that Lindelhof might not be back as producer next season. I think THAT could be a disastrous shame (because I still have memories of when Noxon took over for Joss on BtVS and the utter wasteland of destruction that it caused.) I'm hoping that Lindelhof stays around as head honcho in charge.

It seems to me that they ought to have given her more character development than this if she's going to be killed off. Although I suppose that would depend on how much of a pain she is to work with.

I am mightly confused by this urge ABC seems to have to mess with Lost. Still beloved by critics, great ratings, why would ABC want to risk ruining that? Especially as it may be doing better, but still has great big holes to fill.

True, but I suspect a bit of it is 'the writers aren't interested'. It's the same thing that happened last year with what's-his-name where they threw a single story out there for him and over.

I think (IF this is true) it's just a cumlative thing. First came the huge backlash the fans had against her early in the season. Then came the DUI. Then came the reported "difficulty with the actress," then when they (belatedly) realized that their cast is just too damn big and that perhaps they weren't as interested in the character as they thought, she made an easy target for who should die next. Big enough to be a shock, non-essential enough not to cause long term damage with the show.

I never really had anything against her. On the other hand, I never cared all that much either. Truth is, I'd rather they keep Henry Gale around (and I doubt they're doing that either).

I"m not really willing to commit to the Lindelhof thing. I was unclear whether they were simply assuming that Lindelhof was going with Abrams, and I'm not at all sure that's the case so they could be making the Lindelhof might leave claim with nothing real to back it up, because, no I don't think it's a good thing to lose both of their creator/producers. (Then again, shows do it all the time. But it ALWAYS leads to problems, so you'd think nets would learn).
