Yay! Michael won again. Now, admittedly, I really didn't get the plastic wrap, but the bustier was cute. Besides, it was Michael, so yay.

I'm actually kind of sorry that Allison lost. The mini-mouse hair was insane, but, when working with actual clothes instead of garbage, she did a fairly good job. Besides, it was pretty obvious that she didn't have the worst outfit.

Kayne, unfortunately, did have the worst outfit. But, Kayne is awesome, so I'm glad he wasn't out... even though his outfit was shit. To his credit, he also realized that his outfit was shit. And he seems nice (well, other than shit talking Laura he seems nice). So I'm glad he wasn't auf'd for that monstrosity of an outfit. But, to be fair, his outfit was the worst.

And, I'm going to have to admit that Angela is growing on me. It's not that she has much taste in design but this makes two weeks when she's seemed genuinely happy when someone else won and when she's run to hug the winner. Plus, if you notice, both Michael and Laura seem to get along well with her so I'm coming to the conclusion that she may be obsessed with granny circles and such, but she seems to be a decent human being. (Besides Jeffrey hates her and calls her a femi-nazi, so I think that gives her bonus points for putting up with that.)

Laura has her good and her bad moments. I laughed my but off when she called Vincent crazy (and I also laughed when Allison gently teased Laura about her riding outfit). But Laura also has a habit of sticking her nose in where it doesn't belong, such as telling Kayne his outfit was crap. He knew his outfit was crap, he didn't need Laura telling him that. Also, though she was right that Vincent's model couldn't walk, why carry on the conversation? And what's with the dresses cut to the belly-button? Woman was perilously close to flashing nipple. She has talent, but she seems like someone who-- if you had to work with her all the time -- would probably drive you up the wall.

Jeffrey is a dick. What else is new?

Not much to say except ITA to all of it!

I really like Michael. He's good AND cool and seems like a nice person. I was so happy for him he won again. However, I honestly thought Jeffrey's dress was better this week, but maybe he got docked points for being such a mondo-dick.

I don't understand Laura's plunging necklines, either. She doesn't exactly have the figure for them, and they're not appropriate here, anyway. I LOL'd at her "He's weird" about Vincent.

I'm sorry to see Allison go, too. She just had a really bad week.

Off to make a Tim Gunn "Make it work" icon.

Yeah. Jeffrey actually had a good design. It's just that he's such an ass that even though I figured he would win (and was surprised he didn't) I can't bring myself to actually root for him.

And I have no clue what's up with Laura and the plunging necklines. They really, really aren't appropriate for actually doing anything but sipping a cocktail. It's the nipple flashing issue.

And I wish that Vincent had gone instead of Allison.

And, I'm going to have to admit that Angela is growing on me. Thank you! My non-hatred of Angela felt like the dirty little secret I had to keep from everyone. All I've read about her has been so negative - but really, what did she do that was so bad? Okay, she shouldn't have tried to schmooze her way onto a good team in the Miss USA Challenge, but she paid for that by having to work with Mr. Insanity, who ignored all her suggestions and didn't let her help, then threw her under the bus on the runway. I think she learned her lesson and she was a very good team leader in the Macy's Challenge - and the granny circles actually worked really well on that outfit! Softened it up, made it less severe and more feminine!

Besides, Jeffrey hates [Angela] and calls her a femi-Nazi, so I think that gives her bonus points for putting up with that. Jeffrey hates everyone who isn't him. I felt SLIGHTLY bad for him when he didn't win tonight; however, after I remembered what a complete arrogant a-hole he's been from Day One, I let it go and enjoyed Michael's repeat win.

Yeah, it's hard to feel pity for his loss when he's generally an asshole even when he's not being a sore loser. When he's both, the pity just flies out the window.

If I had to work for Laura, there would be some throat-slitting. Hers or mine, whichever were nearest.

I thought Vincent's dress was the worst. Allison's was pretty bad too. I like Kayne but I didn't feel bad about Laura saying it was bad because the first time she was just agreeing with him and the second time she sais she was worried about his choices. She could have been really mean. Besides he wasn't exactly pulling any punches about her when he was talking about her to Robert when they were having lunch.

I actually thought Jeffrey was going to win and it was funny watching his face when they called Michael's name. But I did like Uli's dress.

But seriously, was this really a fair challenge? Weird materials aside, they only had like 10 hours to do it with no opportunity to come up with something before they went to the plant or even to the art store.

hello

It's pissing me off to read "Jeffrey was robbed" around the internet. For once the judges stuck to the theme which was "Innovation" and rewarded Michael for using 3 different materials instead of one and made it almost look like couture. Also add to the fact that Jeffrey's dress was what Kors called "ugly-pretty" instead of just pretty (the colors were popish but bordered on the garish IMO) and Jeffrey will probably never win a challenge. He is the original Derelict designer (which is why he was so happy and assured working with newspaper in the first place).

I cant get into the uproar over Allison's auf either. Sure she's pretty and cute and stylin' but she was never one of the strongest designers so it doesnt matter to me if she leaves in 9th or 14th place. As shipperx wrote, Kayne's was the worst outfit there and the judges werent ready to let him go so the judging was compromised from the start.

I figured that they gave Kayne a pass because he's done some good designs in the past so they were willing to cut him a little slack on this disaster. And I think the reason fans are sorry that Allison was cut was because Vincent has turned in butt ugly outfit after butt ugly outfit, so why wasn't he cut first? I don't think Allison had a shot at being in the top three.

And I laughed at Kors calling Jeffrey's outfit "ugly-pretty" because they then followed that with the statement that this sort of covers all of Jeffrey's outfits. Yeah, not betting on him making it into the top three either.

The question I have is whether mercurial Nina is going to announce that she's bored with Laura. Laura does impeccable tailoring but she does have a pronounced style. They can either say that it's great that she has a singular style, or Nina Garcia can decide one night that she's bored. If they don't throw something out in left field that she cannot cope with (I wonder how Laura would cope with sportswear) and if they don't declare themselves bored, I give Laura high odds of being in the top three.

Michael is looking as though he may also be a contender for top three.

I have no problem with kayne getting a pass this time. If Kayne had been aufed, I would have been much more upset. I think that fact that it was a 19-hour workday (they woke at 5AM and finished at midnight) undermined his usual determination to reign in his love of excess. You could see his eyes light up when he say the waste -- "Ooooh, trash! I'm White Trash. This takes me back to my White Trash heyday, ergo this challenge is made for me." When he finished that gown that looked like a leprechaun barfed on it, he knew it was bad and he was just trying to scramble to make it to another day. Poor dear. I am more miffed that Robert, his best friend on the show, knew it was bad and didnt say anything.

Re- Laura
I think she will probably make at least Final Four and show at Olympia because she is so impeccable. The judges do get carried away with sure styling and good tailoring. That's why Chloe and Daniel V got so far last season. But what has kept Laura from winning any challenges so far will also keep her from winning it all -- her lack of inspired originality. (Side note - I gotta see if Martha Stewart is the next challenge or not. If she is, then Laura has a good chance of winning that one.)

Re -- Michael
IMO, Michael, Kayne, or Uli are only ones who can win this. However, Michael is my babe. I pretty much pledged my allegiance after Road to the Runway (any reality TV contestant that studied the show gets automatic love from me) but it was with Episode 2 that I knew that I would ride the Michael Train all the way. Michael just added that something extra that changed Laura's simple gown to a goddess dress. He changed that fresh-faced girl-next-door model Katie into a queen on the runway. I literally gasped when I saw it. I flove him.

Hmmm

This is only my third episode (I had previously sworn off all reality television except DwtS, but I caught part of the one designer getting kicked off and got hooked, argh!) and I have to say that I think Micheal is what the judges are looking for in a winner. His Pam Grier look was insanely great and I love his enthusiasm and love for the work. That said, I like Laura's designs better. They are clean and fresh and more in keeping with the style that I would wear.

Is it wrong that I hope to find Vincent and Laura having some sort of hate!sex in a future ep?

Wow. So watching too much soap.

Hee. Yeah, I definitely get the vibe that she would be difficult to live around.

And I also can see exactly where her design perspective comes from. As an architect, I'm willing to bet she's a devote of Richard Meier. Her fashion choices really reflect that architectural Minimalist Modernism.

I thought it was rather unfair to make it both a weird challenge (trash) and an exceptionally short challenge. It seemed a bit like piling on the dificulty.

Well, in a bit of a squee, I tend to consider Project Runway to be a cut above most reality shows for the simple reason that it requires actual talent. In some shows, it's all about scheming and back stabbing. On Project Runway scheming and backstabbing doesn't do a damn thing for the contestants.

Plus, just watching the design process is fun.

I think her edifice is sufficiently aged at this point that she can forsake some of the deep V entrances ;)

In other words, "Laura? I really don't need to see your aging mammaries!" :D
