I know that I'm probably a week late, but I have to say that I think I love Heroes' casting director.

First:
Christopher Eccleston as a regular, a hero, and mentor for Peter

And now:
George Takei as Hiro's father.

The casting director must be a sci-fi geek, and I love him/her for it.

You know, i'm actually going to get to see this series. The BBC are going to show it.

of course, if it proves popular over here, Sky will nick it off them, like they did 24, but maybe I'll have gone off it by then, who knows?

Well, I do have to warn that it's not exactly Buffy levels of writing. But there is a comic book/cliffhanger factor that makes it popcorn-munching fun viewing. Plus, they've managed to make both Hiro (the bending time and space, Japanese, sci-fi geek hero) and Claire (the indestructible cheerleader) likable and rootable characters.

I read that last item and involuntarily screamed "OMG, THIS IS SO COOL!!"

I've been a faithful viewer even though I still haven't really warmed up to the show, but these two phenomenal casting choices will make me a true fan for sure. ::dances with joy::

I'll undoubtedly watch it when they show it. Being disappointed by writing not up to BtVS levels is pretty much what I'm used to now.
