Never thought I'd say this (primarily because on America's Next Top Model she's such a raving loon), but Tyra Banks, you go girl!

Ten years ago, Tyra Banks became the first African-American woman to grace the cover of a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Now, 20 pounds heavier, Tyra's returned to the Bahamas to re-create the photo, which will be revealed on the Feb. 19 episode of her talk show. "I want to empower women to not stress about what they see on the scale," says Banks. "I've never been ashamed of my weight. I am 161 pounds, and I say it loud and proud." And we say, "You go, girl!" 

Honestly, I'd far rather see her curves than the anorexic lollipop heads populating Hollywood these days.

It's always unnerving when someone you think is a nut job suddenly becomes sane and sensible, isn't it?

I admit I've never liked her as much as right now when she's giving all her critics a big FU.

I agree. It think it's great that she's not starving herself like so many other female celebrities. Thank goodness someone has the sense to declare publicly how insane it is to believe that you have to be a stick to be considered an attractive woman.

So true. I've never cared for her, but her telling the "You're fat" people to go to hell is actually rather awesome.

So true. I watched Blue Crush this weekend on TBS and Kate Bosworth was so much more attractive when she wasn't anorexic. I actually rather respected Tyra for admitting she weighted 161 and that even when modling she had weighed in the upper 130s.
