I'm a broken record.
How incredibly cute were Matt and Julie?
How insanely destructive and angsty is Tim Riggins?
How utterly awesome is Tammy?

Oh geez god, it's a Jack episode. ::head desk:

DULL...er DAYS
And, heh, I think I ruffled a few feathers in the TWOP Days thread by being one of the ones confessing to something other than eternal blind devotion to the Steve and Kayla pairing. I mean, I like the pair well enough. They were the two characters who sucked me into the show back in 1985. But, jeez, there are people convinced that this couple shits gold and that theirs is the truest true love that ever trued anywhere on TV EVAH!!!

The truth is, though I like them well enough as a couple, I always saw Kayla as excessively passive -- a swooning, long-suffering martyr of a soft-spoken, in need of rescue heroine. I like the pairing (primarily because of Steve), but never identified with Kayla worth squat. (And it's not that the actress is spineless. She certainly had spine enough for three characters when she was the bitchy Katherine on GH. It's the character not the actress who at times veers towards the excessively sacchrine. I shudder to think what Kayla would be like with some of the other actresses who have populated the show. . . and I'm sure to hear (again!) about daring to make such a criticism of Patch and Kayla. :)

Watch yourself there, m'dear. *g*

Seriously, I adore them, and I do think Kayla has more backbone than you give her credit for, but their current storyline is calling for a lot of really silly, over-the-top stuff, and it's irking me.

Well, as memory serves me, here is one person at least who won't disagree about Kayla.

Not only a Jack episode, but an especially stupid Jack episode. An entire country cares about Jack's tattoos? I would ask what the hell that was supposed to be about, except that it was all so dumb that I don't care.

They've lost their luster for me. :(

OTOH, GH hostage story kicked ass, but I'm sure it will go back to the same old shit of Jason, Sonny, Jason, Sonny, Carly, Jason, Sonny.

Heh. After Criminal Minds was over, I was flipping through the channels trying to find Medium (for some reason I can never remember which network it's on) and there was Jack. So out of curiosity, since I was recording Medium anyway, I watched it, and... OH, GOD, THE BORING. IT BURNS US, PRECIOUS!!! Yeah, I'm resolved to not watch that show anymore.

Well... it's Days. That's part of the problems with the S&Kers who have shown up on Days boards. All the Days boards that I've remained in touch with are snark boards. We all surrendered to the knowledge that the show is utterly unredeemable crap ages ago and on those boards it's really just a funfest of snarking. These days, these type boards are being invaded by serious S&K shippers who seem to believe that S&K will be spared the treatment that all the other characters suffer through (i.e. being crapped on, dumbed down, and in general made pale shadows of who they used to be) and... they just aren't going to be spared the treatment. S&K were my initial attraction to the show, but the show we loved in the 80s has been dead for a very long time and on those boards we're just around to snark on the corpse.

Thank you! I mean, I don't dislike Kayla, and I like MBE. But, sheesh, she never could be proactive about anything... even in 1986!

Oh, I know. Jack tattoos the center of an episode? Why???! I mean, really -- WHY?!!!

I gave up on GH when it became the St. Borg and Sonny the Daddy of All Things show.

And even though I don't watch, I'm seriously offended about their killing Alan.

I usually defend the show, but the Jack Tattoo episode is truly indefensible.

Did you not see the metrocourt episodes? I am shamelessly into this show the way I was in the eighties. I've heard rumors that they've gotten some Y&R help, here..

Here's a clip the beginning of of last Monday's episode..(Feb 19)

Everyone was great, but it's the newbies who have me hooked on the show again.

ABC hired two Y&R scribes and has been using them as consultants on their shows (though why they just don't fire the AMC writer is beyond me. She sucks balls.)
