Unspoiled guess while watching the finale: The flashbacks to bearded Jack are actually flash forwards.

ETA: Heh. My guess was right on the money.

But he got the prescription from his dad's office...

But then again... events would seem to indicate that you're right. What do you know...

Wow! I didn't read this 'til now, and you sure called it. Veddy interesting ending, too.

Apparently so, despite the fact that in the flash forward Jack's dead father appears to be able to write prescriptions.

Even while they were showing that I was thinking "Jack's lying." And I bet you the crack about the other doc having to call Jack's father down was meant as "You gotta resurrect him."

Well, it was obvious he was lying. But I didn't think the scene played as though both parties knew Jack was claiming the prescription was written by a dead man.

Unless Jack and Kate have been returned to a timeline that is earlier than when the flight crashed...or if events on the island somehow influenced events in the real world.

Or Jack's father was alive on the island too. - maybe Jack wasn't hallucinating all that time ago.

After all, if the island can cure paralysis and infertility, what's a little case of death between friends? And surely it healed Locke (again).

NOt like he'd be the only one who came back from the dead. I'm beginning to think that Mikhail is a refugee from Days of Our Lives considering how many times HE has escaped death.

Now all he needs is a kid that ages from 2 to 16 while out of town for a year. Walt was looking pretty old there. Maybe they're on the right track.

I keep thinking that Jacob, the smoke monster, and the appearing dead people, & Walt are all part of whatever entity animates the island.

Don't make my head hurt. :)

I'm still trying to recover reading all the Season 3 Doctor Who timeline arguments over on TWOP (to which I keep wanting to post that the Doctor has a freaking Time Machine. His trips to 2007 don't have to be linear!)
