Weekends fly so fast! I haven't managed to do much of anything I needed to do.  I did manage to edit my fanfic some, but I had really wanted to finish the chapter, and that didn't happen.  I also wanted to make a dent in my Christmas list.  That didn't get started much less done.  I did manage to finally decorate a Christmas tree, but the mantle remains undone.  It was a pleasant weekend, though (even if it largely featured shopping but not actually buying anything.)

On other topics -- it's freaky hot, these days.  Friday, Saturday, Sunday, today, I wake up, look out the window, think "It's December" but, although I realize it's warm outside, I still manage to choose a long sleeve shirt or long sleeve cotton sweater.  I then walk outside and realize that I'm wearing too darn much.  My office is swealtering right now (partly because it's on the southwest side of the building in direct sun, but  it's December!  I shouldn't have a fan going and fighting the urge to go into my boss's office and to turn down the air conditioning because my office is hot.  I realize it's supposed to drop back into normal temperatures by the upcoming weekend (50s) but this last weekend and today is featuring temperatures that make it difficult to believe that it's only a few weeks until Christmas.  (At this moment it's 78 degrees and it's not yet noon... in December.  Freaky).

As far as TV goes, I giggled at last night's "The Amazing Race."  Croatia looked gorgeous, and the featured contestant meltdown was a thing of reality TV beauty

With Jen of "Nate and Jen"/"we should have our turn being first, it's only fairrrr"/Team Infidelity Bitchface losing their shit repeatedly  with phrases being uttered such as "I hate you."  "I hate you too."  "I'm never going to be with you again."  "Good!"   Heh!  The capper on the whole thing was that while they were in first place and heading to the finish line, the cabby wouldn't allow them in his cab!  Then Team Dysfunctional Father/Daughter got that cab and passed them, finishing first (heh!) while Nate and Jen hitchiked to the pitstop only for Phil-host to tell them they were team two (time for Jen to complain of the unfairness of it all),  then inform them that they had violated the rules by hithiking (double hee!), and instructed them to go back down to the harbor to take a cab to the finish line (triple hee!).   While they were doing so, they were passed by Team Pink Goths (triple hee!  and yay!) .  So Team Infidelity Bitchface finished THIRD!  (Whee!)

Only thing better would have been if they had been eliminated.

And the nice thing is, other than Nate/Jen and the fun of watching their misery in full-meltdown, I like all the other teams and would be happy with any other team winning the race, so it's all good.

Worrisome that next  in two weeks Team Goth seems to be having a stressed out argument.  However, promos are often misleading.  I like the Southern Drawl Goths, and so hope it's promo monkeys and not a full-on meltdown of a popular team.

You know what would have been really neat? If the driver that gave them a lift had just dropped them off and left and they'd have had to either find a cab to take them back or, better yet, walk all the way! God, I hates them, so, so much. Which means they'll be in the final three. :-(

As for the Goths, other than the fact that they put on lots of make-up, and dye their hair, and dress funny, I think they're pretty bland for Goths so I can't drum up a lot of interest in them. Should they be eliminated, I won't particularly care.

Speaking of which, hasn't the game gone on a long time without a non-elimination leg? And also, I just noticed last night, because I'm so very, very observant, but are the contestants not schlepping their carry-alls around this year?

I think that they had to dump the back packs because of the zip lines and the zipping into the sea bit. Knowing what was ahead, TAR must have decided they don't need to have their backpacks this week.

And yeah, it would have been funny had they had to walk back!

And rumors are that there is no non-elimination round this time, but they did narrate that there were 11 legs and 8 eliminations so I do think there will be some double-long legs at some point.

Heh, I love the double-long legs because everyone always looks so exhausted and downhearted. My inner Sadist loves that. *g*

I couldn't remember if they'd been carrying their packs before or not, but it does make sense that there's no way they could have carried their packs and done the zip lines and the swimming with them.

Oh, that meltdown was truly a thing of beauty. Nate and Jen deserve each other.

And I love the Pink Goths! "You're like a little Goth superhero!" Hee!

I loved Vyxen's deciding "It's just like Tetris!"
