Wow! I could see all of this unfolding in my head as I read the tale... great creation of place, time, character... and you telegraph what's happened in the 17-year interim so succinctly yet so vividly. The opening scene is pure cinematic bliss. And the whole chapter is wonderful marriage of visuals, action, emotion. Really looking forward to what comes next.
