I'm hoping that it was shoving so much exposition into the chapter that made it so darn difficult to finish and that the next chapter will flow more easily.

And the whole mercenary/bounty hunter thing was one of those 'character speaks to you' things. Somehow that line popped into my head even before I had a plot.
