" What if she’d blown off the roof of Sunnydale High, cracked open the Hellmouth, and exposed it to the sun? They could have at least stood on the upper side of the bottleneck, playing the Ubie version of Whack-A-Mole. .....

Then there was the question of whether they should have done the empowerment spell at all. Look at what it had done to Dana, a girl who was already tortured,..."

Indeed! My thoughts exactly (and my "battle plan" for Chosen BTW....let the sunlight into the opened hellmouth and no one had to die but Turok-Hans. The empowering of Slayers did not win the battle, they could only have held off the hoards for a short while and then died. SPIKE saved the world and Spike alone. Yes they didn't know it would work that way and I could see a power share plan for the girls right there with Buffy. Those had voted to accept it and would be in the actual battle..NOT in general where murderers, tortured souls, etc. would suddenly be given this power! I couldn't see Buffy suggesting it (after calling what as done to create the Slayer a rape and after years of bemoaning it being done to her!) or Giles not seeing the pitfalls. EXCELLENT POINTS.

When Buffy quit makes perfect sense. All that reality finally hit. Lovely choice in the narrative.

Naturally Spike wouldn't leave her there even if he doubts Lindsey cares! He's not that sort of man.

LOVED the execution of the plan and their working together on this.

Every detail of the chapter was perfect from the jeweled cup to the conversations to the actions.

Just excellent!
