Grumpy Stuff
Oct. 9th, 2009 10:16 pm1) Got a freaking traffic ticket. In a glorified parking lot for having a rolling stop instead of a 'complete' stop when no one was coming the other way!
2) Had to get up early on my day off to help teach one of my sister's students how to draw a science project on AutoCad... in two hours. That's just nuts and rather unfair to the student and will ultimately result in my having to do more than half the work. By Monday.
3) My sister is nuts, yo! (can go into why, but no real reason to. )
4) I'm tired as shit of hearing about Tim Tebow and Tim Tebow's concussion. I would never, ever root for an athlete to be hurt, but I'm plenty ready for this one to graduate and enter the NFL draft if only so that ESPN anchors would stop sounding like they jack off to Tebow's picture and game stats.
5) I'm actually glad Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize if for no other reason than it pisses people off.
6) It's October and it's flipping hot! Not just a little hot, but insufferably, high humidity hot.
7) My flu/asthma incuded cough simply will not go away.
Grumpy enough?

Date: 2009-10-10 04:17 pm (UTC)2. Not possible. It took me an entire semester to learn AutoCad.
3. Everyone has a nutty relative (or two).
4. Who's Tim Tebow?
5. Total agreement here. Anything that infuriates Rush Limbaugh can't be bad.
6. I'm listening to Minnesota Public Radio online, and Minneapolis had snow last night!
7. Sorry about this, too. Hope it gets better soon.

Date: 2009-10-14 02:37 am (UTC)The thing that kills me is that they're behaving as though winning the freaking Nobel Peace Prize is a bad thing... somehow... at least for him.
Idiots.

Date: 2009-10-14 02:38 am (UTC)And if it's not hot, it's wet these days. It feels as though it has been raining for months. And soon as it stops raining it becomes steamy.

Date: 2009-10-14 02:45 am (UTC)Tim Tebow is the quaterback for the University of Florida (currently Florida is rated #1 in the country. We're #2). Three weeks ago he was hit and fell back in such a way that he fell into the leg of one of his own team's player and he got a severe concussion. This lead to excessive speculation over "would he/wouldn't he" play in last Saturday's game. What tends to make it annoying is that the sports announcers all but genuflect to the guy as they polish his halo. It's seriouslly way OTT, and has been going on for years. I end up feeling sorry for his teamates because as far as the press are concerned there's apparently no one else on the entire freaking team, at least no one that matters. It's all Tebow all the time (and it doesn't help that from his behavior, I've tended toward the impression that he also thinks it's all Tebow all the time. I swear a few weeks ago he looked angry that one of his team mates got the touchdown instead of him. One of his team mates). It would be sweet if we could beat him in the SEC Championship game. But, first, we have to win the Western devision, so no counting chickens yet. (We don't play them in regular season play, so we'd have to make the SEC Championship game to even play them.)
Snow? Wow. Weather is weird

Date: 2009-10-14 02:47 am (UTC)(Although, there was a post I read today that I thought nailed the reactions pretty well. There are people who hate Obama no matter what he does, so they have to justify that hate somehow. They embrace anything that validates their hatred (such as cheering for not getting the Olympics) and become absolutely irrational over anything that implies that other people -- who aren't them -- LIKE him.
