Last night's episode felt a lot like being bludgeoned over the head with violence against women. I'm not hyper-sensitive about these things. I pretty much accept it in the media... but good grief. It's hard not to notice when there was so damn much of it! Too many women [an array! an assortment! a variety!] being terrorized and tortured for a single episode. Ease off! Or at least mix up the genders!

The only storylines that really interested me last night were Eric's/Layfayette's/Pam's and Jessica's. The Eric stuff (especially Eric and Lafayette and Eric/Pam) worked. I bought all of them being scared shitless and trying to think their way out of this. How are they going to make it out of this? It's a tall order, so I'm intriguted. And I liked the (relatively) understated Jessica moments. Sam's plot wasn't as in your face as the other stuff so I suppose I'm relatively neutral on it, but Zzzz. And, basically, every other storyline boiled down to 'let's torture teh wommenz.'

Blerg.

ETA: Oh, and Alicide, really, keep the shirt off. I suspect that's the most productive thing you bring to the show so... you should probably stay half-naked.

ETA II: Okay, I lied. Having read my own comments here and elsewhere, I must be interested in Bill's plot as well... I just find it ookie while interesting.

Frank is icky, and I'm sick of Tara being a doormat.

I have no problem with the actor James Frain. I rather liked him on "The Tudors" and he's bringing it in the acting department because Franklin is scary as shit!... but I hate this plot with Tara because, damn, we've just had two seasons abusing her and subverting her free will... and they're doing it again?! Stop it, show!

They've hit the same plot point with both Sam's and Jason's stories for three weeks now. Either focus on some other aspect (I do enjoy Sam in the bar with all the crazy crap going on) or skip them this week. We've got the point. Show, you can move along now. And get Jason back to teh funny.

Hated Pam being tortured but liked the Eric/Pam teaming up to try to think of something to save their asses. Honestly, right now, I'd rather watch the Eric/Lafayette/Pam/Jessica show.

I love how Franklin called Jessica an irritating baby vampire.

Oh, I think Frain is fabulous as Franklin. I just find the character creepy as shit. And his bat-shaped ears only add to the creepiness. He's a wonderful casting.

Is it just me, but are they making Alcide the whiny werewolf of the books. You are wasting a pretty man on whining and pining!

Heh! I liked Frankline calling Jessica a baby vamp as well. And Frain is doing a good job of making his character legitimately scary.

I wish I could get whiny. I was just getting blah... but he did look good with his shirt off. It's like a joke that used to show up on the AMC boards about a couple of characters. Just let them stand shirtless in the back ground. Don't ask them to do anyuthing, just let them be attractive scenery.

No chance in hell, although it's what the majority of viewers want. Ball is in love with Bill, and will ram him down our throats if necessary. Ditto Jason and the boring, BORING Alcide.

The Mickens are both ghastly and utterly pointless, rather like Mary Ann's protracted non-story last season. I don't know what's happened to this show - well, actually I do. Ball has gone totally off book. Once he jettisoned Harris's storylines and started making up his own, things have gone totally south.

I actually enjoyo Jason when he's being incredibly stupid. But he wasn't actually very funny this week and being funny is his primary purpose. And I think Alcide's purpose had better be walking around with his shirt off because I don't see much other use for him.
