• Ever had one of those days where you end up further behind than when you started? That was my day at work today. I started off the day thinking that I'd just update one elevation drawing only to realize that it didn't match the floor plan which then had me fixing the first floor plan, which meant I had to also fix the second floor plan, which meant I also had to fix the roof plan, which meant I had to fix all the building sections to match the revised roof plan which... well... I'll be back to the original elevation drawing some time tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow afternoon. I'm working backwards!



• Rewatched Mad Men's Season 3 and let me squee over its awesomeness all over again. That was a great finale. Peggy! Trudy! Joan! ... And I have to say that little Sally Draper breaks my heart every time.



• The oil in the Gulf has been stopped! Okay, it's probably only temporary because the well-bore most probably cannot take the pressue (but people think the moratorium is an overreaction, why, exactly? I mean, just because with this one we have serious worries of it rupturing the sea floor why worry about the other 33 rigs in deep water with the exact same blow-out preventer...fails in %50 percent of the time. What's the problem?). But, at least for the moment, the oil flow has been stemmed, so yay!



• Some of the comments on the EW.com articles on the Mel Gibson tapes are just plain disturbing. Help me here, gold-digger or not, exactly what does a woman need to do to "deserve" her boyfriend saying she should be gang-raped? What must she say, as is being argued on these threads, to 'trick' or 'trap' him into screaming racial slurs? What must a woman do that makes it 'okay' for the guy to spit angry, misogynist tirades complete with violent imagery and threats? Because 'sometimes women deserve [to have two teeth knocked out]', you know. Particularly if she had an affair with a married man [Gibson being the married man in question], or was a gold-digger, or a bitch or something... Yes, of course, his going off the deep end in some sort of alcohol-fueled, psychiatric meltdown is perfectly understandable if she's not a nice person. That makes it totally make sense and not his problem at all. [/sarcasm]

Wow, people are really saying all that? It's disturbing on so many levels. How can anyone try to justify what Mel Gibson did to that woman? I really don't understand people sometimes. It actually makes me feel ill when I think of how big a fan I used to be of his movies. I can't even bear to look at him now. :(

I'm pretty sure the only people trying to justify Mel Gibson's nasty, nasty remarks are people who think just like he does. There seem to be an amazing number of people who are filled with hate toward women, Jews, Mexicans, blacks, Catholics, gays, all foreigners, etc., etc. In other words, hate (and fear) of anyone who isn't them.

And count me in on the list of those who wouldn't be at all comfortable watching a Mel Gibson film in the future, knowing what he's really like.

It's really astounding some of the things people post. One was so OTT that it simply had to be a troll. But there are many that seem to be perfectly serious.

He's off his rocker. It really sounds like a real mental breakdown that's been coming on for years (which is why I do consider that as OTT as his words are as out of control as the words are... they come from some things he really believes and feels. I think he is a sexist and a racist. And now that he's clearly having a mental breakdown it's spewing out 100% unfiltered. And it's ugly as hell).

And if he is hitting that woman hard enough (while she is holding their child) to knock the veneers off her teeth - I hope he goes to jail. Where he belongs.
