I have no doubt that's true. Because, honestly, exactly how does a character deal with their behaving badly for years on end, choosing one guy over the whole freaking world and everyone in it, and that guy doing what was already obvious -- betraying you YET AGAIN. I don't think there is any reasonable way to have a character deal with this, which is why I'm mostly sure that they won't.

She'll say she feels guilty. Some characters will say "Don't be so hard on yourself. The universe was out to get you." And we'll have another year of Buffy saying 'life is so hard' because I think Joss tipped his hand way back in Season 6 that his view of things is pretty much "Life sucks, then you die, then they drag him back to do yet another season so life sucks even more."
