Sometimes it's difficult to tell the difference...

I'm sorry...did this person not realize that the government doesn't actually mandate the hours of sunlight in a day, just the way we adjust to them based on the Earth's cycle?

Js.

Damn. Congress has even more power than I realized if they can actually add an extra hour of daylight and take away an hour of darkness.

Did anyone respond and explain to this woman that the government doesn't actually have that power?

Wow. I'm having trouble telling the difference too.
(I hope it's satire, because the alternative is kind of scary.)

Christ Almighty, that makes my brain hurt. *head-desk* I can only hope that it's an attempt at satire.

Apparently.

I read it and went "Bwha!... now wait. Is this person serious or is this person satirizing... wait a minute, some editor chose to print this letter, what was the editor up to?" Then I go back to "Bwha!"

It's got to be satire. Got to be. Either way it's pretty funny.

"coughs" Daylight Savings Time was moved up when Bush was in office lady "coughs".

But yeah, it is kinda hard to tell whether they're sarcastic or just dumb.

Howls. Howls of laughter.

I remember back a few years some regional areas were very anti daylight savings because it unsettled the livestock.

We eventually worked out it was because hooves have trouble with the knobs on watches.

(Actually, it was a milking thing, but the image of a cow with a wrist watch was always good for a giggle)

I choose to believe satire. And well done satire at that!

Well, "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity. About the universe I'm not sure.."

When i travelled from Philadelphia to Chicago via train (and please remind me to never ever do that again!) i chatted with someone in the smokers lounge. After a while, i was asked
"So, where are You from?"

And i said
"From Europe"

And
"Oh, did You come all the way by the train?"

Well, since that incident, i think anything is possible, as far as human stupidity is concerned. :)

"Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe." - Frank Zappa

And Wall Street labeled itself "the Masters of the Universe". Congress can apparently control space, time, and the rotation of the earth!

As to anyone responding. Don't know. I just saw this posted on a blog where they were complaining about Daylight Savings Time (the more real version like "It made me wake up an hour earlier this morning!). The person posting it thought it was hilarious too.

It actually is satire. Connie Meskimen is an attorney known for sarcasm. It's still amusingly sad for America that this is borderline believable. :)
