The heroine didn't strike me as conscienceless, but... yeah.
The intro begins with a murder then zips back 5 months (and I'm thinking that quite possibly the first 8 or 13 episodes are working our way back to that 5 month mark so that they have an ending if the show isn't picked up.) And eventually in the '5 months earlier' we meet the murder victim as well as the guy who appears to be an accomplice in the murder... Both are too young to have any direct connection with what happened to her father. So I can see where that five month mark could become a pivot point where she begins having to deal with the fact that her hands are now dirty as well.
There's also another guy involved in the revenge plot whose story we don't know, but who strikes me as this story's version of Bertuccio.
