* The Vampire Diaries: Tyler/Caroline FTW.  Like those two together. And Klaus is kind of hot (though evil).

* The Secret Circle:  And suddenly, I'm nostalgic for the old BBC series "Hex".  Am I crazy or is there some similarity bits and pieces of Hex... only sans Thelma the lesbian ghost... who was actually the best part of that show.  TSC and Hex both even have its lead character named Cassie.

* Out of curiosity over the whole 'reboot' nonsense, I looked at Days of Our Lives today for the return of my old teen crush Jack Deveraux (I realize that the actor has been ill, but please, MA ease up on the macrobiotic diets a bit and eat a sandwich... and SHAVE)... and OMG, Jennifer Rose Horton, you've grown insufferable.  But, aw, there's Abby Deveraux, all grown up and not at all SORASed.  God, that makes me feel old.

I wouldn't be surprised if aspects of Hex were based on the Secret Circle. There were a lot of details in both Buffy and Twilight that first appeared in The Vampire Diaries.

I started shipping Caroline/Tyler last year. They just seem so right together. I find Matt boring at best, while Tyler is hot enough to cook an egg on. :-)

I got a serious vibe of Angel backstory with Stefan's little trip down memory lane.

This episode made me think that someone involved watched Hex.

Oh, I did too. It was her staying with him when he turned werewolf the first time that did it.

And yeah, seems kind of Angel-y (extra y in honor of Joss) ;)

Actually both the Secret Circle and The Vampire Diaries series were primarily written in the 80's and very early 90's. They pre-date both Hex, Buffy, and Twilight and you'd be shocked how much of our current paranormal teen scene has elements that first appeared in them and LJ Smith's other YA series.

For example, Elena had a red haired best friend who just happened to be a witch in the first VD trilogy. I assume they made Bonnie black in the TV show because of Willow, which I find ironic.

Again, Tyler'd werewolf-dom (-ness?) pre-dates Oz by about 6-7 years. Dark Reunion was published in 1992, albeit he doesn't develop a relationship with Caroline (who never becomes a vampire) until the later published books that postdate Buffy and Angel.
