Shadowcat had a meme about favorite scary tv episoddes, which brought to mind the "A More Permanent Hell" episode of Forever Knight to mind... which in turn led me to You Tube. And honestly, until I saw the first few seconds of it again after all this time, I did not remember how eerily similar the opening bars of AtS's "Angel" theme was to opening bars of FK's theme:

I'll never forget the very first time Angel aired, from the beginning, we all looked at each other and said, "It's Forever Knight." And they kept on with the similarities (the flashbacks, the brooding, the trying to be human again)...

But I liked both shows, so....

It amuses me that Whedon claims he never ever heard of Forever Knight.

Er... so... it's accidentally nearly the same show (at least early on).

Probably Greenwalt - the Angel series was actually his idea, not really Whedon's. Moonlight's even more similar to Forever Knight.

Angel veered away from it when Tim Minear took over.

It wasn't quite as good after Greenwalt left... but I loved Angel; was always more of an AtS fan.

I loved Moonlight, too (enough that I've actually gotten myself hooked on the new Hawaii Five-0).
