In the books Cersei is the pinnacle of "mean girl". Seriously, when reading her POV in "A Feast For Crows" she appears to have the limited intellectual and emotional capacity of a really, really, heartless and bitchy sixteen year old 'mean girl'... and absolutely nothing above that.
In the book she's afraid of no one (except possibly her father). That's one of her problems!
