In the Shallow World of H'wood

In the shallow world of Hollywood, it is nice when some of them do something good with their stunning amounts of money. From zap2it.com:

Bullock Donates $1 Million for Tsunami Relief
Mon, Jan 03, 2005, 10:01 AM PT
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) -
"Miss Congeniality" star Sandra Bullock is exhibiting her generous nature with a $1 million donation to aid the recovery work in the countries hit by the recent deadly tsunami.

The massive tidal wave, triggered by an earthquake in the Indian Ocean on Sunday, Dec. 26, has claimed nearly 150,000 lives in 11 countries, including India, Thailand and Indonesia. Thousands are still missing.

The popular actress' financial support will go to the American Red Cross, which received another million-dollar donation from Bullock in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks.

That's very cool. BTW - I read that she's playing Harper Lee in a biopic of Truman Capote.

She has to be flattered because I'm sure she was never that pretty. I could see Bullock in that role of a snarky Southerner though.

Jackie Chan also donated $500,000 (or perhaps he and Chow-Yun Fat together did).

Btw, who is in your icon (I Still have My Dignity)?

It's Crichton. It's the ep where they have this light emitting creature and because he has the worst eyesight of the group, he's volunteered to go kill it. They put him in this dorky outfit, put goop all over him, cover him in tin foil, and (looking utterly ridiculous)half-blind they send him in to fight the creature. It's comedy! (Well it was comedy Farscape-style)

I've always liked her, and now I like her even more.
