True Blood Finale
While I appreciate the whole follow-up to see the lingering consequences after the climax... I spent most of the episode waiting for the other shoe to drop. Something about the vanquishing of Maryanne seemed, I don't know, incomplete even though she does look really, most sincerely dead. Somehow the pacing felt off. Although, again, I do appreciate that there were lingering consequences that after the "Yay we saved the world Bon Temps" no one really got a real happy ending from it.

I did LOL at Jason deciding that they had to be heroes (even though they weren't) because they'd gone in to save everyone, and everyone got saved. So, in his mind, they must've saved everyone. It sort of reminded me of Xander going "We saved the world" at the end of "Chosen". Um, Xander, I think the bulk of the 'saving' was done by the character who got killed. Or... in this case, Sam. Of course, now Jason is the polar opposite, a killer that no one knows about.

Poor Eggs. I figured he was toast. I thought he'd commit suicide, not get killed, but I didn't see any real way for his character to survive.

I enjoy the Vampire Queen, simply because she's crazy and thus somewhat fun... but does it seem that in some ways they're reversing the Bill/Eric thing from the books, with Eric being the one in league with the Vampire Queen? And her warning to Eric to never drink from Sookie, because that would make him fall for Sookie too. You know it will eventually happen, but they sure are making the whole Eric/Sookie thing more about the blood than any sort of consensual relationship.

LOL'd at Lafayette as a "bridesmaid."

LOL'd at Bill's dress selection for Sookie. He knows his girl, doesn't he?

And, I really hope that Jessica doesn't murder that guy (but I suspect she will).

Anyway, somewhat strangely paced finale and more than a bit anti-climactic. I felt out of sync with the episode. It didn't quite gel and felt as though it should have been stronger.

Mad Men
At this point women falling all over themselves for Don is becoming self parody. Seriously, Sally's teacher had to go all squicky for him too???! I did like that poor little Sally got some attention from her father. At least a tiny bit. Sally is so going to be a flower child in a couple of years.

So they gave Betty the 'good drugs' when she was having the baby.

Poor Pete. Yet again he's ahead of his time, but no one wants to listen. He's right about many things and it just doesn't matter to anyone around him. I suspect that by the end of the season Peggy is going to take that job outside the agency (can't really blame her. I've been where she is -- 30+ years after her -- and I'd almost advise her to go. Sometimes that's not only the best for personal fulfillment, but best period. Sterling Cooper looks like its turning into a hot mess. Give fair to good odds that Pete will do the same thing. And... possibly Don... eventually.
