LOL at i09's summary of Once from this week.  Gotta say, I spotted that curse problem too.

From i09:

The whole thing was a ruse so the Wicked Witch could curse Hook's mouth so that the next time he kissed Emma he would drain her of her magical powers. Which makes sense, because who wouldn't curse the mouth of the guy the heroine may or may not use? As opposed to her car door, her child's hand or the toilet seat. Because this is a gamble the Wicked Witch is willing to take... because kissing!

It's like that scene in Austin Powers where Dr. Evil wouldln't let Scott just kill Austin but insisted on his unecessarily complicated plan, then leaving the room and only assuming that Austin dies.

Seriously.

Also funny:

Also, everyone else (including his own crew) has changed into Storybrooke clothes. Hook is still wearing the same, entirely leather ensemble. At this point, the juices have sealed in.

But you know what, screw it. I still like Killian. He's like one half theater kid who just discovered he can totally wear the shit out of his mother's eyeliner, and another half sexy English teacher you actually read the books for. He works, it's mostly the acting. Because Jesus, that outfit has been played out. He even looks miserable hauling that 1,000 foot leather duster around set, but Killian wears it. He wears it so hard.

Mad Men
I didn't even know that it was supposed to be new last night.  I only caught it because I was setting the DVR to recored TURN.
Peggy, I've been there, girl.  Been there a lot.  It sucks.
Go, Joan.  You rock.
And... I guess that GM injury last year was permanent for poor Ken.  Poor Ken.

Game of Thrones
- Let's hear it for weddings in Westeros!
- LOL @ Loras's burn of Jaime when Jaime was all "You're never going to marry Cersei" with Loras saying "Neither are you."  Burn.
- Another good burn, Oberyn pointing out that some countries find it distasteful when innocent women and children are killed... and isn't Myrcella lucky that she was sent to one (unlike Westeros) that does. Burn.
- Shae, Shae, Shae... you really aren't bright, are you, love?
- God, Theon's face when hearing about Robb... and when Bastard Bolton was hunting the girl.  We may have lost Joffrey, but prepare to hate Bastard Bolton to infinity as well.  Sick bastard.
- Poor Brienne's face when Cersei said Bri was in love with Jaime.  {{hugs Brienne}}
- Poor everydone during Joffrey's wedding entertainment.  Loras and Margery looked like they were going to hurl.  Granny Tyrell looked quietly seething.  Poor, poor Sansa looked like she wanted to die.  And of course, poor Tyrion. Joffrey had not one redeeming quality.  Not one.
- Long live King Tommen (and his kittens).  I'm serious, Jaime, if you want to redeem yourself on the King's Guard, I'd suggest looking out for Tommen and his kittens.

I did LOL at this portion of an interview with the producers re: this episode:

Weiss: To preempt objections, it is not feasible, on a production level, to have a person riding a pig.

But you looked into it.

Weiss: We did. We were told it was not fair to the pig.

Ah, pretty pig, somewhere Penny is marginally more happy because of that.

Once Upon A Time
-  Well... at least Ariel got her prince back... no thanks to Hook.
- I just KNEW Storybrooke Ariel was going to turn out to be the witch.
- Bad form, Hook.  And now your kiss is cursed.  Holy cow, what a weird spell.. his KISS is cursed.  *head shake*

Flash floods last night with apocalyptic rainfall (the weather alert signal on my phone went off at 11:30pm, 1:30am, and 4:00am.  And, yeah, I looked each time because it may have been tornadoes.  It's that time of year.  But...  um, phone, what am I supposed to do about flash floods?)

Yeesh.  But...

Woot!  Too much TV for Sunday!

TURN
So Revolutionary War spies.
Ichabod Crane would be so proud (while bumbling around looking for the supernatural). It was all set up (and maggoty cabbages).
Since it was so much plot for set up, it'll take development.  Liked the Continental soldier dude that managed to escape the Scottish Rangers.
Weird tv/romance novel crossover in my head as the whole "There's a mole who betrayed us to an ambush!" thing kept bringing back memories of Elizabeth Hoyt's Four Soldiers series ... only that one was the French Indian war rather than the Revolutionary one. (And I never read the novel that resolved who the mole was)
Worth another look to see how it goes.

Trippy Mad Men promos too (era appropriate trippy).

So... that happened.

Actually, I was fairly spoiled.  Spoilers never confirmed the who, but process of elimination (as well as everyone else having been spotted filming later episodes) made it fairly evident who merited 'candidate most likely'.  Plus, there were anvils raining throughout the episode.  Within the first five or so minutes I knew that -- yep, that's who.

So, so long...ExpandRead more... )

Jane E. wrote the episode, it seems (when I think she's been writing Once:Wonderland.  I've caught up with Once: Wonderland via OnDemand recently.  It's not bad).

Have to give Grumpy one of the best lines of the night when he was trying to suss out whether the Wicked Witch they were dealing with was East or West. When asked why that matters, he points out that it lets them know whether to drop a house on her or throw a bucket of water.

Also LOLd at Emma still being weirded out by stuff.  "The Wicked Witch is real?"  Capt. Hook: "...Asks the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming."

Speaking of Hook.  Forboding hint or continuity error:Last week he said he scavenged the ingredients of the memory spell and only came up with enough for Emma.  This week, he says the memory spell was delivered TO him.  More, hm, he really couldn't have done the spell because not even Regina can re-create it.As I don't think Hook would ever willingly do anything to hurt Emma, there's more to the story.  But the question will be what sort of deals is he willing to make or is he being used.  And if it's the a latter, who is doing it?
And... why IS Neal missing?

Red Riding Hood is back - yay!

And aw, the fake explanations to Henry about how Snow is an ex (LOL) prison cell mate of Emma's. Yes, Henry, you don't remember that now, but your grandparents look the same age as your mother. (Hell so does your adopted mother/step-grandmother.)

And I remain interested in how they will try to deal with Robin Hood and Regina.Did like that she rushed to save Roland, who is still cute as a bug. Between Robin's attitude toward Rumple and Regina, Robin's a rather forgiving dude.

From TVGuide:

Once Upon a Time has found its good witch!

The Client List alum Sunny Mabrey has been cast as Glinda the Good Witch on the ABC fairy tale drama, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

As first reported by TVLine.com, Glinda is an elegant and wise witch, though years of isolation have made her lonely.

Mabrey joins the previously cast Rebecca Mader, who plays the Wicked Witch of the West. The second half of Once's season will take on a heavy Oz theme.

Translating GOT's Season 4 Trailer... literally (spoof)

HBO is to air a 15 Minute Featurette on GOT in February:

Your readers may be interested to know that the 15-minute presentation GAME OF THRONES ICE AND FIRE: A FORESHADOWING will debut SUNDAY, FEB. 9 at 8:45 p.m. (ET/PT), exclusively on HBO. Offering a look back and a look forward to the fourth season of the hit HBO series, the show features clips from upcoming episodes, behind-the-scenes-footage, interviews with talent, and cast members’ answers to questions posed by fans.

* * *

Once Upon a Time has casting news out (in several places) that a regular cast member's character will be permanently killed this season (at the least they make it sound permanent).

Lots of speculation and no confirmation as to who that may be. Apparently the list of possibles (as stated by the producers) encompasses only the contract players, not a recurring one (so they aren't talking about the likes of Mulan, Tinkerbell, Sleeping Beauty, Robin Hood, Grumpy... The regular contract members mentioned by producers as 'on the list': Snow White, Prince Charming, Queen Regina, Emma, Henry, Rumplestilskin, Belle, Neal, and Captain Hook. Of course, several are ruled out by fans because no one thinks Emma, Regina, or Snow White (or Henry for that matter) would be written off. Charming, of course, has/had(?) a twin (since he's actually 'the Pauper'). Most fans think it'll be one of the last three candidates, though.

Again, no actual spoiler or storyline clues as to who it might be, so it's left entirely to speculation. Plus, all of the actors are currently filming so that's not a hint either. (Wouldn't put it passed them to do what BtVS did back in Season 5 and deliberately spread false rumors.)

No confirmation that I've seen whether or not Snow White will be pregnant on the show, though the actress is well into her second trimester in real life. {They could do flashbacks to Snow's pregnancy with Emma any time they wanted, I guess.}

Rose McGowen is returning for some flashback with Cora (Regina's mom/the Miller's Daughter/Queen of Hearts).

The next Big Bad (as widely advertised) is the Wicked Witch (I'm assuming 'of the West' but as I stop to think about it, I don't think there's been confirmation of that either. She could be 'of the East' or even a story-twisted Glinda for all I know.) They say that the Witch will not have a name from Wicked (Does that then rule out Glinda?) or the old Warner Brother's movie (no doubt because Disney has rights to the books not to the 1940s movie or for Wicked).

TVGuide Stuff:

Sleepy Hollow:

The dynamic duo that is Abbie and Ichabod will hit a rough patch during Sleepy Hollow's season finale, and you can thank Katrina for that.

No, Abbie and Katrina won't be fighting for Ichabod's affections, no matter how many fans hope to see some Ichabbie. With the prophecy that Ichabod will deliver Abbie to Moloch looming, Abbie will have doubts that when her partner is faced with the choice to either rescue Katrina or sacrifice his wife for the greater good, Ichabod will make the wrong decision.  {Me: Which is obviously sacrifice Katrina.  Sacrifice Katrina all to hell because she is a woefully underdeveloped and uninvolving character!}

Once Upon a Time:

There are seven weeks until Once Upon a Time returns. That's the bad news. The good news is TVGuide.com caught up with executive producers to get the scoop on what's ahead.

The last we saw our favorite fairy tale characters, Peter Pan's  attempt to reuse the Evil Queen 's curse forced everyone back to the Enchanted Forest. But Emma  and Henry, who were not part of the original curse, could not come along. {Me: That summary isn't exactly correct. }   Instead, their memories were wiped, and they were living happily in New York City until Capt. Hook showed up with news that Emma's parents, Snow White and Prince Charming, were in trouble.

{Me:  I always love how summaries of this show sound like crack!fic. :)

Why was it Capt. Hook that came to Emma in New York City?
Adam Horowitz:
That is an excellent question. Why and how?
Edward Kitsis: What the hell is going on?
Horowitz: We're answering your question with more questions. It's not why Hook, but how Hook and when Hook? What does it mean? That's something that we get to, again, pretty quickly.

The true love's kiss did not work. What lengths will Hook have to go to get Emma to actually believe?
Kitsis:
Assuming that he does, it will not be easy, as it never is with Emma.

What can you tell us about the Evil Queen's relationship with Robin Hood?
Horowitz:
They have a connection that we hinted at and talked about earlier this season. Their stories are going to intersect.
Kitsis: We set something up for a reason. We're going to explore what that meant and what happens when these two people meet. We're going to see what happens when Regina has a second chance at love.
