Okay, it's a kid's book, but I have to admit that I've been enjoying it. When I saw it on audible, I recognized the name from the Bill Murray movie that I watched when I had the flu, so I've been listening to the City of Ember book series and rather enjoying it even if it was written for sixth graders.

It's set in an almost steampunk post-apocalyptic world where'the builders' tried so save humanity by building a city underground so that a chosen few could survive until it was safe to return topside. Two hundred and forty some odd years post-apocalypse, the City of Ember is falling apart, the food stores have dwindled, the generators that kept the city alive are dying, and the people of Ember not only don't know the way out, they don't know that there's even such a thing as 'out.' The story follows two young teens and is actually quite enjoyable (City of Ember, The People of Sparks, and The Diamond of Darkhold )
