Tudors - 4X01

I have to laugh at the way that JRM apparently resists having his Henry age beyond having a beard and the barest hint of gray. I don't know how he gets away with not being an obese middle-aged Henry.The pad up his clothes a little and show him eating all the time, but his face still looks like that of a much thinner man. They did a pretty good job of puffing up Peggy's face on Mad Men, looks like they could do the same for Henry.
Others are aging though. And I've long been impressed by the way that the actress who plays Princess Mary has managed to play Mary from a young girl through to adulthood convincingly. She's managed to look appropriate at a bunch of different ages. She does now come across as being older than Henry's current wife (though the same actress played the same age a couple of seasons ago).
Little Prince Edward has grown into quite the tow-headed tot. And the Princess Elizabeth has grown as well. Older actress this year. She now looks about twelve or so. Not sure how that aligns with history (and I wonder if they're going to push her older by the end of the season).
Is it sad that the puppet show sex just made me think of the Bangel!Boink? Puppets are no more ridiculous. And little Queen Catherine really does come across as an airheaded twit who, emotionally speaking, seems all of fourteen rather than seventeen. A very sexualized fourteen.
Oh dear God, Coombs is a sociopath. They gang-raped a peasant. And laughed about it. And then he killed her husband. Okay, i don't think I'll be feeling any pity when he gets executed with Catherine. (I don't spoiler cut for general history. Just episode stuff).
And I'm guessing that Henry settling all of Jane Seymour's estates on Catherine is what will eventually do her in. There are courtiers who won't take that lying down and she isn't smart enough to notice she's being set up to take a fall. She isn't a tenth as smart as Anne Boleyn or Cromwell and courtiers did them in.
