On Writing...
Jun. 30th, 2010 12:58 pmMy stalled WIP has been very stalled the last few weeks. I've made virtually no progress which is bad because of inertia. When I start up again, it seems so much more difficult to build momentum.
I've basically reached the point where the plot feels muddled to me, and I think that I need to tighten the theme. Heck, at this point, I'd like to remember the theme!
One thing that has been stalling me has to do with backstory. I've been debating having a certain result from "Chosen" in there at all. Last night, during that twilight rest just before falling asleep, I reached the conclusion that I need to include it just for the sake of Spike's reaction. I think I need Spike's reaction to make the current scene feel adequately motivated.
At least that choice has finally been made. That still leaves me trying to rework the entire chapter, though.
I swear that I write at a glacial pace.
