Bwhahahahaha! Okay, I heart the opening previouslies. They were AWESOME!

Flashback of Kendra making her most terrible statement "They keep breeding and breeding!"

Flat out stating that Rebecca and Adam have a terrible relationship, "I'm never going to talk to you again like for the rest of my life." then capping it off "And Adam's fear of almost everything he encounters..." with pictures of of Adam floating face up in the dive suit. Bwha!

And *snort* Kris saying that she thought that Jon was worried that she'd be miserable and be "a raging bitch" to which clueless dufus Adam answered "Your 'raging bitch' is like (points to Rebecca) on a really good day." Rebecca naturally gives Adam a 'eat shit and die' look. *snicker* What was that about their having a terrible relationship? (Of course, from everything we've seen... Adam was just stating the truth).

I totally agree. The previouslies were great! Phil said that Kris and Jon have a "consistently positive attitude." No kidding! Everyone else got mocked, but with Kris and Jon, there was nothing to mock.

Tonight's finale had many laugh-out-loud moments, and if the ending had been different, it would have been a perfect episode. Despite the horrible ending, TAR was very exciting tonight. Adam and Rebecca were hopelessly behind, so I knew it would be between the other two teams. It all came down to Freddy and Kendra knowing precisely where to go after they got off the train, whereas Kris and Jon had to stop to consult a map. Ah well. Maybe Kris and Jon will be invited back for the All Stars season....

Do these come out on DVD? I've heard so much about the terrible couple - Johnathan and Victoria? - that I must see them for myself.

I think there are going to be DVDs at some point. And Jonathan and Victoria were AWFUL. Not even "awful" in the funny and amusing passive/aggressive way of Adam and Rebecca (who also had a terrible relationship but not a cringeworthy one. For example, when doing really hard challenges Adam (I'm serious) would cry out for his MOTHER. He was totally incapable of standing up to Rebecca--who could be quite the ballbuster-- but would decompensate with others (he got very frustrated with a person at the airport in last night's ep). But they were amusing-dysfunctional as she'd do all the hard tasks or have to pump up his ego to convince him to do stuff because he really was quite the chicken on the show (such as the final challenge last night was to eat a pizza...and he was complaining "But I don't eat tomatoes!" Rebecca was taking none of that. Or the exchange last week where she'd call him "honey" and he'd say "don't call me, honey." She's snap "Okay... honey." He'd decompensate further. "I said, don't call me honey!" "Okay...ass.")

Jonathan/Victoria were a whole other ball of wax. They weren't amusingly dysfunctional. He was ABUSIVE. He'd make her do every difficult task...then berate her the entire time telling her that she was doing it wrong and he could have done it better (but he never did the tasks). He grabbed her arm, and not once but twice lifted his hand to her...and she FLINCHED away. She injured herself and was screaming (albeit rather hysterically. She wasn't a particularly level headed or nice person herself) and he completely ignored that she was standing there BLEEDING until another contestant yelled at him about it and his response was "Well, what do you want me to do?" He also closed the trunk on her hand...twice and never apologized or even looked concerned that she was hurt. And while he criticized her for everything she did, he was overthe top self-congratulatory. Jonathan was an abusive ass. And Victoria wasn't a particularly sympathetic victim. They were terrible.

Most of the other couples had reasonably functional relationships with the occasional stress-induced meltdown, but purely in the ordinary stress-bickering way. Except...

Kris and Jon who. . .WOW! Who knew there were people that incredibly calm. Those two never, ever got angry with each other -- EVER. They were always nice -- to each other, to the other contestants, to strangers on the street. You kept waiting for the meltdown that never came. The closest they came is after a very, very, very frustrating day in Shanghai with a series of cab drivers ripping them off, taking them to the wrong places, and driving them in circles they (gasp) sorta-kinda were a little rude to the taxi driver who had driven them 10 miles out of the way. These people had more patience than I would ever have! They were far and away the nicest couple and it's a shame they came in second... and they were incredibly nice about that.

The pair that one raced well, and had a reasonably good relationship (they carped at one another occasionally but were as a rule good to one another) but they weren't particularly nice people. They could be shockingly snotty to locals of the cities they visited. So a functional relationship, just not the best people.

New Season starts in 3 weeks.

On second thought, I don't think want to see Jonathan and Victoria. Do you think the producers knew they were like that? Surely they have some sort of screening process.
