POINT TAKEN: Fox, meanwhile, has put Point Pleasant out of its misery, announcing that last Thursday's episode was the show's last. In an online posting, exec producer Marti Noxon told fans that she was relieved the show ended when it did. "[Tonight's] episode didn't quite come together the way I would have liked," she said, "and I would have hated for that to be our final word." And here's something to file under "T" for "Too little, way too late": Noxon says, "Episodes 9 through 12 were going to be pretty cool, though. Lots of twists and scary stuff." As reported Wednesday, Fox will air the final six episodes of Tru Calling in Point Pleasant's Thursday time slot beginning March 31.

Don't count your chickens yet...in Ausiello's TV Guide Insider, when asked about the possibility of the Spike movie ever coming of the ground, Joss Whedon speculated "[Spike] is not necessarily something that I would write and direct myself," he suggested. "I have a lot of brilliant friends who worked with me for many years who might be able to take the helm — somebody who both James [Marsters] and I would trust."

As soon as I read that, my first thought was "Please God, don't let him mean that Noxon woman by that!"

Two WTF moments here: that show actually had fans? Uh, no -- I bet all these "fans" were actually interns she forced to post on the board (the same ones who voted for PP on the E!Online SOS poll). And you're glad that no one got to see what would have been tonight's episode because it "didn't quite come together?" Um, couldn't that be said for your whole POS show, Marti?

Why is this woman still working? Fans hate her, critics hate her -- I don't understand it. She must have those proverbial photos of dead women, live boys stashed somewhere. Either that, or this show actually was a paean to Her Lord Satan.
