Spoke with my sis who spoke to the cardiologist. He said that they've been monitoring my dad's heart for years and that they knew this day would come. Actually he's been surprised that it's gone this long. It's been progressing very slowly. Because of that, he thinks it's okay not to rush the operation. They will do more tests, but it can hold off a few weeks to a month or so.

My sister was hoping for that as it would give my parents time to put things in order and it would allow for school to let out (My sister currently teaches high school chemistry... yeah, an M.D. who teaches high school chemistry. Go figure).

She sounded better about it which is reassuring. She and her husband (also a M.D.) know far more about medical matters than I do (ask me about carpeting, or fire codes in schools).

In happier, far, far, far less vital news, Peter David has posted some of the artwork for the Spike comic: http://peterdavid.malibulist.com/archives/002756.html

Gasp! It actually looks good.

And I'm expecting the delivery of my "Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars" DVD.

She sounded better about it which is reassuring Well, that's a good thing. I'm sure everything will be all right. I'm keeping all of you in my thoughts.

Hopefully everything will be okay. Thanks for the sympathy.

And after remembering how much I liked Peter David's book 'Q Squared' and seeing the artwork, I'm cautiously optimistic about the illustrated novel.

And, yeah, Spike looks yummy.
