GOT: Sophie Turner Talks Season 3 Sansa

Book readers of course know the plot.

Anyway, from i09.com:

GOT's Sophie Turner talks Season 3 Sansa
"I can tell you that Sansa kind of goes through this little roller coaster on season 3 emotionally. She kind of gets her hopes up a little at times, and they kind of get crushed - as per (usual) pretty much, nothing much different. It's very emotionally testing for Sansa this season.

{...} Peter (Dinklage) is such a cool guy. He's amazing to act alongside with and I think I've been really lucky in terms of having worked with Sean Bean closely - him being my dad, (Ned Stark) - and now Peter. I'm very lucky getting to work in scenes with these guys because they're big successful actors. Peter's comedic timing is amazing."

Oh dear, poor Sansa. I did hope things might improve a little bit for her this season.

Still makes me curious exactly where Season 3 will end.

Since Book 3 is being split into Season 3 AND Season 4, there's been a lot of guessing going on where Sansa's Season 3 story breaks.

Set pictures and production stuff have made clear some of what definitely made it into Season 3, so it's been pretty clear that one big event involving Sansa is included. Whether or not the second (mid book) event involving Sansa made it into this season or whether it will wait until next season has been up for a lot of debate.

I've been leaning towards hoping that the second event will be pushed to early next season. But at this point, no one (but the people involved with the show) know. It hasn't been spoiled whether it's in this year's plot or next.

Whether or not that event is this season matters as far as what sort of feeling Sansa's Season 3 arc ends on. Basically, it could end on a low note, a high note, or an emotional reversal. It's going to depend on where the show producers choose to stage the season hiatus. In this case the editing will matter.

(Similarly, I'm curious where they stage the break in Arya's story as well. We know for certain that one huge event involving her will happen. However, whether her response to it happens this year or next isn't known.)

And now I'm trying to remember what stuff happened with Sansa in the second half of Book 3 versus what happened in Book 4. I'm a little hazy on what happened where after the second event.

You know, I don't actually know where to go to see these set pictures. Is it HBO's website or elsewhere?

Anyway, from what the actress says, it does look like Sansa will still mostly be having a miserable time.

winteriscoming.net (but there's lots and lots of book readers so a more than fair amount of accidental spoiling).

And re: Sansa, it's all relative I suppose.

In the books, at least, I enjoyed Sansa's interaction with Olenna Tyrell (the Queen of Thorns, Margaery & Loras' grandmother...aka Diana Rigg for the show).

But then, the Queen of Thorns was pretty fun all around in the book. Sort of the Westeros version of Maggie Smith.

"All men are fools if truth be told, but the ones in motley are far more amusing than the ones in crowns." ~ Olenna

I'd better stay away then, I suppose.

Olenna Tyrell will turn up in season 3, yes?

She totally will. Not only does she have a significant role to play, but they hired Diana Rigg to play her.
