Well, Dad had the cath yesterday. Good and bad news. Bad news that he has blockages they didn't know about, so they're going to do a double bypass. Also the urgency for the operation is more...well... urgent. Good news is that the valve may be repaired and possibly no replacement. The doctor gave a 70% chance that he might be able to repair it but he won't know until he tries. The surgery, however, will be immediate. It's scheduled for Tuesday (don't know what time, yet.) My employer has been quite nice and said I can take whatever time I need. I'm planning on all of Tuesday off. Almost certainly Wednesday, and then playing it by ear after that. Hopefully everything will go well.

Sent Chapter Five of Perfect Vengeance to the betas a day or so ago. And either I'll have lots of time to work on fanfic while anxiously waiting... or no time at all.

Like work, I'm just playing it by ear.

::Hugs::

I'm glad you're taking Tuesday off -- these surgeries always take hours and I know when my dad was under the knife for his bypasses, I couldn't focus on anything else until I heard he was out.

Yes, that he needs a double by-pass is not good, but they've made tremendous strides in the operation since my father had his first back in 1986. I'm not trying to downplay the seriousness, but it really is much more routine than it was when Dr. Debakey and his team first performed the procedure. And if they can repair the damage to the valve, not replace it, that would be so much better.

Again, ::hugs::. I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts.

My mom had a double bypass a couple years ago and she came through with flying colors. I'm sure your dad will too. Also, it's sounds very hopeful that the valve can be repaired.

I'll keep you dad in my prayers as he undergoes his surgery. {{hugs}}
