Unfortunately, doesn't apply here. From what we are learning about them, they were very much in tune with jihad movement in Caucasian region. The youngest brother kept VK page (that's Russian analog of Facebook) and was steeped in our Russian teen culture, not American.
But it doesn't make much difference, they are just other young guys who went off rails from virtual hatred in a virtual world. Don't see much difference between them and Sandy Hook killer, indeed.
The only thing which may play a role is that with Chechens you have to check the big family/clan networks. They might not have been alone, could be more of this coming. :( Their father has already threatened retaliation if something happens to the youngest guy, and I wouldn't take that lightly.
