* Wore myself out working in the garden this weekend. Planted 3 hydrangeas (after having to dig up the roots of the arborvitae that I had cut down this winter), basil, and mandevilla.

Dudes, come on! Subtlety wouldn't hurt. You don't have to make Regina completely off her rocker delusional. I realize this show is pitched at a fairly young audience, but this is downright simplistic. Nuance would be okay! (And, seriously, Emma, they let you in on the plan all of five minutes before you were playing loose lips with Regina. Again, come on!)
* Game of Thrones
So much to do with Season 3, so much to do!
* The Borgias
Never have much to say about this show, but I am enjoying it. (Though I will add that Lucrezia's new hubby has a hairy ass.)
* Mad Men
Don's going to get his ass in trouble... and he's become a drunk.
And there's just something about Pete/Trudy. Trudy deserves so, so, SO much better than Pete, and yet somehow, though he does not deserve her, I find myself still rooting for the two of them. I don't know why, She could do so much better than that little toad, Pete. I did crack up at Stan cracking up at LOST's Ethan's ad pitch. I'm guessing Ethan was a Roger LSD pal. And, finally, Betty is all but unrecognizable.

- The Seleyse/Stannis/Melisandre situation has a few hints of the Romanovs ala Alexandra becoming enthralled with Rasputin because of an ill child (or in this case a bunch of babies in a jar... and an ill child)
- Speaking of Stannis... over on Buffyforums it's been a surprise to discover that the "believe in prophecies! Believe in fate" Bangel crowd are at least consistent. Dorotea is arguing that Melisandre isn't leading Stannis down the rosepath to his own destruction because OMG, her fortune telling is true (Seriously, I'm shocked that anyone save the characters puts any faith whatsoever in Stannis Baratheon actually being The Prince That Was Promised. Surrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeee he is.
- Poor Arya. Arya: "I would be your family!" Gendry: "You would be my lady". Hearts break and embarrassed shippers hearts burst... because although that's not what the line really means... yeah, it sort of tweaks the shippers. (I felt it in the book as well, and she's even MORE of a kid in the book! It's definitely Wrong!Ship. But I still sort of fanwank that in 8 years...)
- Poor Sansa. The child is clueless.
- Hey, Loras, you shouldn't talk to your pick-ups about your granny's plans. That said -- your pick-up was hot!
- Jaime and Brienne knocked their bath scene out of the park. Wonderful scene.
- Please, Ygritte. Eat a few mammoth sandwiches (not in size but... I think meat is somewhat rare above the wall, and the girl needs a little meat on her bones).
- Speaking of, show, where are the mammoths?! I want a mammoth!

Re: Buffyforums - I'm sorry
I like Dipstick but she is way harsh on Spike. I do think she understates the Buffy side of things here too. Some of it is that Empty Places is kind of a...not hugely well-written episode so it's hard to talk about it without running into problems because everyone sort of looks bad, but bad in different ways and ways that are almost irreconcilable. I also get how it can be frustrating when someone is constantly down on a character as she is re: Spike.
Every now and again I even feel bad for dorotea for that reason -- because Angel is getting it bad. Of course, that's how he's being written, so....
Re: Buffyforums - I'm sorry
Frankly, it comes off as rather manipulative in terms of writing. I don't particularly buy that the Scoobs would actually do that (nor do I think it makes any sense how the complete 180 reversal takes place at the start of the next episode. The trip is so dizzying that it's hard to find it to be organic).
It's just that I've seen it argued in the past that this was the most terrible character assassination ever, and... er... no. It's bad writing. It's manipulative. And it isn't the best moment for the characters. But I've seen worse character assassinations (season 8 Twangel plot being a prime candidate. Though, I can't really feel bad for Dorotea. For the character formerly known as Angel? Yeah. But, I've seen the accusatory rants Dorotea has publically posted elsewhere, so I don't foresee my working up a lot of sympathy for her blind character loyalty when she is so free with posting blind frothing character hatred elsewhere.)
Re: Buffyforums - I'm sorry
I agree though that as it stands, it's not terrible character assassination. There is worse. And yeah, Twangel.
I agree on Dorotea in reality, and it's certainly true that her attacks on other characters make her being cornered in on Angel not all that sympathetic. I can sympathize with the idea of it though, hard to be an Angel fan right now.
