Heh. The problem for the unsullied is that book walkers knew what was coming, so there were a lot of unspoiled folks being filmed as they reacted to... that.
(Other people's trauma is shamefully funny to watch).

Date: 2013-06-03 06:19 pm (UTC)This was a lot more fun than it has any right to be. Without the visuals, it's a bit like Monty Python's "The Death of Mary, Queen of Scots".
I love the dog who runs up to comfort his human.

Date: 2013-06-05 03:32 am (UTC)And the dog was adorable. Dogs are so good like that (though one day I need to record the way my dog reacts to horses on the TV screen. 90% of the time she doesn't notice the TV at all, but place a galloping horse on the screen (or a squirrel) and she just my go NUTS!
Funniest was when I watched Warhorse and there was this scene where the horse gallops off camera. Zoe ran up to the screen and when the horse ran off camera she turned and started barking at the window next to the TV screen, apparently assuming that of course the horse must have gone there!

Date: 2013-06-03 07:36 pm (UTC)Yes, this. I felt so much dread while watching and seeing all the signs, especially Walder Frey's ~glee at humiliating Robb, just made me want to reach into the television and smack Robb upside the head.
I do like how Cat's youthful trust in Walder Frey and the resulting disaster from that calls back to Robb and Theon's relationship. It's not simply being youthful which leads to these mistakes, but also the bonds forged while young which people still carry with them. Cat can recognize the mistake in sending Theon, but can't see the mistake in trusting Frey.

Date: 2013-06-03 07:32 pm (UTC)The one of the group on the couch, where the two on the left are flipping out while the two on the right are just expressionless except for the tiniest smirk. The unsullied and the bookwalkers, side by side.

Date: 2013-06-03 08:57 pm (UTC)Is it just me or was there a big difference between the way men and women reacted when watching in a group?
Or maybe all the men knew what was coming?

Date: 2013-06-05 03:54 am (UTC)I actually saw the long original version of the group who were watching where the two girls on one side were openly freaking out and the girl in the middle would occasionally smirk. In the original there was this pop-up pointing to the smirking girl saying "book reader". Sitting next to the book reader was a guy, and I rather liked the way he surreptitiously began rubbing his eyes when you hear Grey Wind bit it... because of course he wasn't crying over a fictional pet ;)
And the guy sitting next to that guy became visibly twitchy and unable to sit still as things got more and more upsetting.
Still only the girls openly gasped and cried.

(I'm "unsullied," but it's only because I haven't had a chance to read the books yet, because most of our books are packed in boxes in the shed, including the first few of these, and I didn't want to start with book 3...)

Date: 2013-06-04 12:26 am (UTC)I kind of started with Book 2 since I'd seen the first season and had read all the spoilers. (Hey, I'm a spoiler whore, what can I say.) I glanced through Book 1, but I really wanted to know more about Book 2 and the future.

Date: 2013-06-05 04:06 am (UTC)And I understand the long delay in reading. I had the books on my shelf for years and it was only when the show was in production that I figured I had better finally get around to reading them.
